The Captured Princess

Chapter Eight: Fay

This was going to be fun. Getting into fights, getting revenge, and becoming rich.

"We should probably move out of sight of the building so Bloody-Hand doesn't see us," I said.

Keary nodded and we went back to where Keary and his men had tied up their horses.

"You can have one of the horses, and then we'll bring the rest back to camp," Keary said.

I nodded, and looked over the horses. "I'll take this one." I pointed to a chestnut mustang.

"That's fine with me."

I mounted my new horse and Keary and I rode back to his camp, the extra horses trotting behind us.

When we reached the camp, I looked around and estimated that there was around a hundred men who were doing various chores. 

Keary got down from his horse, and I followed his example. "Follow me and me and we'll talk about how we'll get the item." He then walked into a large tent towards the center if the camp and ducked in.

As I followed Keary to the tent, I felt the men saring at my robotic arms and legs. I entered the tent and looked around. In the far corner, a cabinet was set up ad had several drawers of papers and maps. Beside it, a table was standing with papers scattered over it except to one side, where a chair was resting.

I've been memorizing that map to make sure I know where every barricade and place to leak through is," Keary said, walking over to where I was standing. He opened one of the drawers from the cabinet and pulled out another map. The man set it down and unrolled it so I could get a good look at it. It showed all pf the rooms where they would be located in the castle. the map had words on each of the rooms, saying what was in each room.

"This is a map of the interior of the castle. I stole it from Bloody-Hand before I left," Keary explained. "I suggest you memorize it so you won't get lost. I plan to check every room thoroughly to make sure that I don't miss it. We will divide the castle between us. we should split it to where you get one side and I get the other. This is probably the most efficient way to find the object."

"Wait, What are you talking about? I mean, I know we are going inside the castle, but you didn't say why yet. So start explaining," I said cockily.

"Right. There is an object that the king has, and I want it. This object is a powerful ring. It has the ability to freeze things. Once I found out that the king had it, I had been plotting and trying to figure out a way to get this object. That is what I want your help with. To get the object and actually use it. the king is too much of a coward to use it," Keary spat out the last part.

He pulled out a knife and stuck it down towards the top of the map. Keary put a finger right beside the knife and slid his finger towards the bottom.

"Back to finding this object, this is how we will divide the castle and make the process of finding this ring more quickly. Any question?"

I shook my head. Then I cocked my head as I thought of a potential problem. "Actually, I do have one. What happens if we encounter someone?"

Keary looked back at me. "Kill that person, unless it's royalty. Then take that royalty and get out of there as fast as you can without encountering anyone else. Or, you could just put a knife to their throat and walk out of there."

I grinned. "This is going to be a lot of fun."
