I looked warily to the entrance of the cave, hoping the young soldier's screams hadn't attracted any attention. He was unconcsious again, for which I was thankful, but his fever was high. I racked my brain for healing solutions, but I had always been more concentrated in how to do the oposite.

I was mad at myself. This was meant to be a quick trip to the castle, steal the ring, get my revenge on Bloody-Hand, pay Fay and send her on her way, and continue on with life. What it had become was something not many would envy. I was extremely fed-up with the way everything had turned out, and wished I could turn back time and fix things.

I almost laughed at the thought. I didn't fix things, I broke them. I didn't straighten things, I twisted them. Ah well. Back to the topic at hand, healing the young soldier. I say, I didn't even know his name. I'd had the pleasure of almost killing him and without being properly aquainted. For shame.

I turned to the princess, concern etched in her face. "What's his name?"

She looked at me, slightly confused at the question. "Why do you care?" She said with hostility.

I sighed. I didn't blame her for her attitude. "I can't just call him 'young soldier' all the time now, can I? What's his name?" I ask, harsher than intended.

She gazed warily at me for a few more seconds before answering, "Theo. His name's Theo."

I looked back down at the soldier named Theo. He looked to be in pain again. I suddenly remembered something.

"I'll right back," I said whilst standing up and making my way hurriedly to the cave entrance.

"Where are you going?" Fay asked me before I exited.

I turned back to the dimly lit interior and answered, "To find some things that might help the soldier." I looked towards where Derek was perching in an alcove in the rocks, "Come Derek.' I called to the hawk. He deftly left the alcove the glided over to my outstretched hand. With that, I strode out of the cave and into the evening light.

"Keary," Fay called after me.

I turned back again." What?"

"When will you be back?"

I shrugged. "When I get back." I didn't feel the need to recaution her against letting the prisoners escape.

I strode away into the forest, welcoming it's solitude.

Well, I guess we'll see. I guess we'll see. o.O O.o
