We had to push ourselves to ride the two days with very few stops, which were only long enough to water the horses. Keary and I agreed that we should eat while we were riding, so as to make sure we got to wherever we were going soon, especially before the king sends out spies to find us.

We passed through the woods, in the direction Amos had said to go, and emerged to a rocky terrain. Keary headed straight ahead, and it looked like he wanted to go to through this whole terrain as well.

I frowned. "We need to stop soon, Keary. We both need to sleep." This was ridiculous. Keary had better have an amazingly good hideout to make this all worth it.

"We will. We are very close to it," Keary said, without turning around to look at me. We had better be.

We made our way to almost the far edge of the rocky terrain, and I was surprised to see Keary stop and dismount.

"We're here," he announced.

I looked all around. He was crazy. "I don't see anything."

Keary sighed and guided his horse, with the princess on top, down one more hill, and walked straight into what I thought was a small overhang. To my surprise, Keary walked farther towards the back of the cave and through a tunnel, leading his horse behind him.

I quickly dismounted and followed him, hurrying up to make sure I didn't lose track of him. Not that I was scared or anything, but I just didn't want to get lost and have Keary mocking me relentlessly.

I caught up to Keary and trotted behind him. We walked along the trail, and, eventually, it opened up into a big cave. It was, of course, made of rock, but the ground was dirt. Weird.

Keary led his horse to the opposite side of the cave, and wrapped his horse's reins around a jutting out piece of rock.

He pointed to another one right beside it, and said, "You can tie your horse on that one."

I nodded and walked my horse over to it.

Keary looked at Adira. "Get down, girl. We can do this the easy way, or the hard way."
