I rolled my eyes. "There's no need to be crabby about this."
Keary sighed. "Let's just get in, get our stuff, and get out."
"What are we going to do with the girl?" I asked, pointing to Adira.
"Hmm. How about I sneak into camp and grab some stuff, since I know the layout better than you do."
I frowned. "I guess I'll stay with the girl." And now I'm stuck babysitting the princess. Not my idea of fun, but Keary's reasoning was logical.
After a few minutes, I swung down from my horse and helped Keary get the girl off of his horse and onto mine. Taking precautions, I climbed onto my horse, then hauled the squirming princess up. I grabbed her shoulder with one arm, and held onto the horse's reigns with the other.
"Hurry up, though, Keary. I don't want to babysit for too long." I was still not happy about how things were, but I had to deal with it anyway.
"No, I'm going to take my time and wait until the king comes to find his daughter," Keary sneered, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
I glared at him. "Just get on with it. By the time you leave, the king will be here."
Smirking, Keary left and headed towards the camp, and I soon lost sight of him.
"Why won't you let me go?" Adira demanded as if she were in charge, trying to get away from me.
"Because I don't want to," I snapped, still angry that I was stuck here instead of doing what Keary was doing. He better come back with food too.
"And why don't you want to?" the princess insisted, still acting like she was in charge.
"You don't need to know that, and I wouldn't push my luck if I were you right now. I am very testy, and I don't need a child ordering me around," I hissed. "The way I see it, you aren't in a position to be asking the questions. Soon enough, you will be telling us what we need to know. So don't go farther now. If you do, I will make your life miserable."
The princess still twisted, trying to get away from me. She even tried to fall off the horse, which I let her. She hit the ground, then struggled to stand up. I slid off the horse just as she got up.
"Keary just needs you alive. I don't think he cares how well you are, probably just enough to answer the questions. Oh, I'll make sure you stay alive, but you will wish you would die." I pulled out my knife, then hesitated. Being this close to camp, the men will wake up once they hear her screams. Then the whole thing will be compromised. Of course. Just when I was going to have some fun.
"What, too afraid that my father will kill you if you hurt me?" Adira taunted.
"That's it. I've had enough of your snarky comments." I stepped closer and grabbed her. The princess tried to duck, but I managed to grab her hair. She cried out in pain, and I could see her eyes watering from the pain. I yanked her towards me, then hit her on the head, knocking her out. I will get my fill of fun once we get to wherever Keary is planning to go.
I lifted the limp girl up onto the horse, then jumped back on myself, and waited for Keary to get back.
Whew, poor Adira! I mean, she don't look to be in too good of a situation right now... But yeah, vote and comment if ya'll are enjoying! :D
