A silence fell over everyone, and I mulled over what I had just learned.

Father has a magic ring? And he never told me about it? Really, that shouldn't be a surprise to me. My father rarely spent time with me, much less talked about important things with me.

The girl folded her arms, glancing outside the cave where the man had disappeared.

I looked over at Theo, and my heart jolted as I saw the ominous puddle of blood collecting around him.

Our eyes met, and I could tell he was already feeling the effects of major blood loss.

He tried to smile at me, but it barely even looked like a smile. I could feel tears forming in my eyes. Why did this have to happen?

Eventually the man came back in, seeming much calmer.

"Have they said anything?" He asked the girl, who shook her head.

I mentally raised an eyebrow. I guess that she didn't want to tell him that she told us basically everything about the ring...

He seemed to accept her answer, and moved to the wall of the cave, leaning against it.

I heard an unfamiliar sound and tried to identify it, when the man's hawk flew into the cave. It perched on the man's shoulder, swiveling its head around the cave.

I watched it warily for a moment before looking over at Theo.

When I did, I let out a short exclamation as I saw him slumped over and pale.

Without a second thought, I jumped up and ran over to him.

Using my bound hands, I moved his head on my lap, stroking his black hair. "Theo, please," I begged, not really knowing how I was going to finish my sentence.

He moaned quietly, and I gasped as I saw his shoulder, which was drenched in blood.

"Please," I turned to look at the man and girl, pleading, "he needs help."

O.O.O.O Oh... oh dear... that don't look too good... hmm I wonder whose fault that is...

Oh that's, it's ours *I jest morbidly*. XP Well, anywho, vote and comment! :)
