That confounded king had ruined my day. This would indubitably ruin my plans to get that ring. At least Fay was here. Her fighting skills were far superior to what was normally seen around here. There she was, engaged in combat with the princess. I was fighting the king, but that fight wouldn't last long if I had my way. The old fool was tiring fast, such a trend comes with age. He immediately went into the defensive, and was trying to disengage, probably to help his daughter fight Fay.

They were really going at it. The princess was surprisingly skilled for being a female royalty. Fay's arms looked scratched, and the princess had taken a cut across her right arm, thus, hampering performance.

At that moment, the king called a retreat. Coward that he is. Immediately the king's soldiers backed off from my men and mounted their horses, together with the king and the princess, galloped away.

Back where we were standing, Fay approached me and said: "That will affect our plans for tonight."

I nodded my head grimly.

"Will we still go through with it?" She asked while replacing her long knives in their sheathes.

"Of course we will," I said, holding up my hand for Derek to land on. "Now is the best time. That pompous fool of a king won't be expecting us after a confrontation like this. He's probably thinking that we'll be staying home, and licking our wounds."

"Not that he'd expect us anyway," Fay pointed out.

"No, but now he'll be expecting us lesser than ever," I stated while ruffling the ruddy feathers on Derek's breast.

"Alright," she said, "Four hours."

"Yes," I replied. "Four hours."

Things is startin' to heat up again. :)
