Kabanata 48

PIA'S POV:

Kakatapos ko lang maghilamos at maglinis nang katawan nang may biglang pumasok sa kwarto ko. Wala sa sarili akong napatayo mula sa kama habang nagsusuklay ng buhok nang maaninag ang mukha ni kuya Andrew. I immediately stood up and went to his place. Inayos ko muna ang suot kong salamin bago muling humarap sa kanya. Despite being mad at him awhile ago ay bigla na lamang akong napangiti when I saw his clothes. He was wearing the same paired pajamas as mine but it's with a diffferent color. He glanced at my clothes, then to his's and smirked. Pumasok siya sa walk in closet niya at padabog na isinarado ang pinto.

"Aish!" Dinig kong mura niya mula sa loob.

I leaned my ear on the door, trying to decipher his words but nothing came out clear. Pawang malulutong na mura lamang ang naririnig ko. Malungkot akong napatingin sa suot kong damit. It's cute, isn't it? Why doesn't he like it? This is not even my idea but somehow I really appreciate his lola.

Matapos ang ilang minuto ay bumulaga sa akin ang nakabusangot na si kuya Andrew with his new pair of clothes. He is now wearing a plain black pajama and a white V-neck shirt. I don't know how simple clothes make a man look so dazzling.

Padabog niyang isinara ang pinto ng bathroom at agad na naglakad patungo sa kaliwang bahagi ng kama. Though I'm a bit hesitant ay sumunod na din naman ako sa kanya and occupied na right side of our queen sized bed. But to my surprise ay bigla na lamang niyang itinuro ang convertible sofa sa mini sala and threw a pillow on my lap kasabay ang kumot na nagamit ko na.

"You sleep there. I don't want you close." Aniya sa isang matigas na boses at walang pag-aalinlangang tinalikuran ako.

He immediately covered himself with the comforter and turned the lights off na nasa side table lang niya ang switch.

Agad na nangiligid ang mga luha ko sa ginawa niya. I understand that he hates me a lot but I never expected that he's capable of treating me this way. Nangangatog man ang tuhod ko sa sobrang sama ng loob ay pinilit ko paring tumayo at naglakad papunta sa mini sala 'di kalayuan sa bedroom sana naming dalawa. This will be the very first time na matutulog ako sa sofa. Nagulat na lamang ako nang biglang magsara ang glass door sa pagitan naming dalawa. This is a certain door that divides the bedroom from the mini sala. It's like a glass tinted wall. He is so inhumane. Am I really right at my decision of marrying him?

I swallowed hard before making myself comfortable with this very small sofa. The whole room is fully air-conditioned so I've got no problem with the very high temperature right now. But just the thought of him not being concern about me and "HIS BABY", makes me cry.

Hindi ko alam kung anong posisyon ang ginawa ko para maging komportable but I immediately had fallen asleep after some time. Nakatulog na lamang ako habang umiiyak.

LUKE'S POV:

Maaga akong nagising dahil obviously ay hindi ako nakatulog sa sobrang pag-iisip kagabi. Who will ever have a good time sleeping if I am staying here with the woman I love who happens to be my cousin's wife? Another is, I felt really bothered about Andrew being the Mafia boss of the Alpha. Does marrying him resolve the issue about Pia being the only witness sa pagkamatay ng parents niya? Hindi kaya mas lalong malagay lang siya sa piligro?

"Sh*t!" I cursed under my breath when I accidently hit the brim of the pot. Natulala na pala ako.

Kasalukuyan kasi akong nagpapakulo ng tubig for my pasta. Since I can't sleep anymore, and no one's awake yet ay naisipan ko na lamang na magluto.

I was busy checking on my pasta if it's already cooked when Pia suddenly entered the kitchen. She's half-awake and I doubt if she's already aware about my presence. Her hair is still messy and I think she hasn't combed her hair yet. Perhaps, she's also expecting that nobody's up at this hour. She went to the fridge habang nagkukusot ng mata at tila asong naghahalungkat ng pagkain. After some time ay may hawak na siyang tupperware where the leftover from last night's dinner was placed. Hindi man lang siya nag-abalang initin ito at agad na umupo sa counter. She must be very hungry. Ganyan daw talaga ang mga buntis, I heard. Ngunit bago paman niya maisubo ang nagyeyelong fried chicken ay agad ko nang hinawakan ang kamay niya which made her jumped in surprise.
