"Nah, I'm not drinking too much tonight. I've gotta start easing off it." I said, shaking my head in refusal as a very drunk Nick Valensi tried to offer me what would've been my second beer...if I chose to accept it that is.
"But it's your birthdaaaaay!" he whined, earning a laugh from me.
"Well...not anymore." I shrugged.
It was about two in the morning, and the small apartment was filled mostly with the guys' friends...and friends of the guys' friends. My idea of a small party had failed.
"Go sit down, Nicky!" I giggled, walking him over to the couch.
Nick grumbled in response and collapsed onto the couch beside a passed out Nikolai and a few strangers I'd never seen before. I stood in the centre of the room, looking around at all the people. I then looked over at the kitchen and saw presents piled up on the counter. Even people I'd never met before in my life had brought gifts. As I questioned to myself what I was gonna do with all of them, Fab came stumbling up to me with a distressed look on his face.
"What is it, Fabrizio?" I asked him as he stopped in front of me, roughly grabbing my arm.
"It's...It's Albert!" he slurred his words quite a bit, making me roll my eyes.
I sighed as Fab practically dragged me down the hallway. "What's he done this time?"
"We were smokin' in the bathroom and he slipped on this dudes puke and hit his fucking head on the sink, man!" he blurted out, making me gasp.
Without saying anything, I pulled away from Fab and burst into the bathroom. Sure enough, there was Albert, laying on the cold tiled bathroom floor looking pretty unresponsive.
"Albert!" I knelt down and placed his head on my lap. "Albert, can you hear me?!"
Fab unsteadily fell down onto his knees beside me, not knowing what to do with himself. "Is he alive?!"
"Of course he's fucking alive!" I scowled, trying to calm myself as I watched Albert's chest rise and fall with every breath. Fab mouthed a 'sorry' to me as he moved the broken shards of glass from what used to be a shot glass to the side.
I felt around on Albert's head for any sign of trauma, pulling apart his jungle of thick hair. I couldn't feel anything, but I was still incredibly worried.
"Help me get him up!" I said to Fab as I tried to pick up the top half of Albert's body. "We've gotta get him to the hospital!"
As soon as Fab rushed over to grab his legs, Albert started to groan. We froze, giving him a chance to wake up.
"Whaddup guys?" said Albert after a few seconds of rapid blinking and looking around.
"Whaddup?! You could've fucking died!" I yelped, dropping him.
Albert looked up me with a raised brow. "What'd I do?"
"Ugh! Doesn't matter!" I said through gritted teeth. "We're going to the the hospital to make sure you haven't given your stupid self a severe concussion. Get up."
Albert slowly stood himself up, wincing in pain as he touched his head. "I'm fine!"
"Do as I say." I growled.
"I missed mama Jade. She's back!" Albert said, making Fab laugh, whilst I stood with my arms crossed waiting for him to comply. "Okay, okay! I'm coming."
Sitting in the waiting room of a filthy hospital for two hours wasn't how I wanted to spend the rest of my night...or beginning of my morning...but I knew Albert would've done the same for me.
"Albert Hammond...Junior?" A rather young looking nursed called out as she stepped into the room with a clipboard and pen in hand.
I raised my hand, helping Albert to stand up and the nurse nodded once she saw us. We followed her into a small standard checkup room and made sure Albert sat down.
"Could I get a recap on what happened?" asked the nurse.
"He fell and hit his head on a sink," Fab explained with a yawn.
"He was unconscious for a bit, so that's why we're worried." I included.
Albert sat with his arms crossed as the nurse examined him and asked a few questions.
"Sorry we ruined your birthday." Fab whispered to me.
"You guys didn't ruin anything." I quietly laughed. "Accidents happen."
Fab smiled and rested his head on my shoulder. "I missed you."
"I missed you too."
"Right!" The nurses voice made me jump, as I was just about to fall asleep. "He should be fine. I'm pretty sure it was just the large intake of alcohol that made him woozy. But make sure to keep an eye on him for the next few hours just incase."
I stood up and smiled. "I will. Thank you!"
"No problem." The nurse replied once Albert had finished filling out paperwork to the best of his ability. When we were all finished up, we were free to leave.
Fab groaned as we guided Albert down the halls of the hospital. "I'm so fucking tired."
"Same." I stifled a yawn. "You can crash at ours tonight."
"Thanks." said Fab as we entered the waiting room from before and approached the exit.
Albert froze up before we made it through the doors, leaving Fabrizio and I looking confused.
"Albert?" I watched him with a furrowed brow as he looked back at the rows of chairs in the waiting room. "What is it?"
"Is that..." he sloppily extended his arm and pointed. "Is that who I think it is...or am I just really fucking concussed?"
Our eyes followed the direction of his arm and we both froze up when we saw him...
There was none other than a shirtless Julian motherfucking Casablancas, sitting down on one of the chairs with a blood soaked T-Shirt pressed to his left forearm.
