"I still don't really wanna go." I told Nikolai as I put on a little mascara and lipstick. I frowned at myself in the mirror and flattened my burgundy tennis skirt.
Nikolai put down the magazine he was reading and looked up at me with a raised eyebrow.
I pulled on some tattered black boots with another frown, then slipping on my cropped leather jacket over my worn grey Smiths T-Shirt. "How are you guys not sick of parties? I ask this every time..."
Nikolai shrugged and lay back on my bed, crossing one long leg over the other. "We're young, man." He rolled over on his side and started fiddling with one of my bracelets on the nightstand. He then slipped on a black beaded one, looking pretty pleased with himself. "Live a little...that's what people say, right? I dunno..."
I scoffed at his statement and shook my head, then poking it out the doorway to yell. "I'm ready!"
"Finally!" I heard Nick and Julian cheer.
"Let's go, Niko." I said, followed by an exasperated sigh as I walked out into the living room.
"You look good." said Julian, walking up to me. "We all okay to go?"
"Thanks," I held back a smile by biting my bottom lip. "...and yeah. How are we getting there?"
"Sorry babe, but we've gotta hit the subway." said Nick as he ruffled his hair a little, trying to achieve some sort of rugged look. But he only made it look like he'd just got out of bed.
"Ugh, really?" I grunted, pulling my hair into a messy side braid as I watched Fab put something in Albert's hair while he wasn't looking. It caught Nick's attention and he soon tiptoed over to assist Fabrizio in whatever childish thing he was doing to poor Albert.
Nikolai looked at his watch and smirked. "We should get going. Round up all the freaks, would 'ya Jade?"
"Why is it always my job to wrangle the freak show?" I said with an exaggerated pout.
Nikolai smiled in response as he and Julian opened the front door and walked out into the hallway, both engaged in conversation.
I stared at the three guys, waiting for them to realise that it was time to leave, but they didn't. I rolled my eyes and shouted. "Let's go!" That caught their attention.
I lazily leant against a pole on the train as I stared out the window. Everything passed in a fast blur. Albert coughed, catching my attention and I looked up to see the back of his head. His curly mop of hair had some small pink flowers in it...most likely from my vase in the living room. I giggled to myself, tapping him on the shoulder.
Albert turned around to look at me. "Hm?"
"Fabrizio put flowers in your hair." I told him with a smirk.
"Snitch!" I heard Fab call out. I couldn't see him though, because the carriage we were in was quite packed. He, Julian, Nick and Nikolai were stuffed behind a crowd of people, whereas Albert and I got in last, so we were right by the doors.
Albert and I shared a laugh and I flicked a flower out of his hair. "Would you like me to pick them all out?"
"Don't I look pretty?" he asked, batting his eyelashes.
"Of course you do, flower child!"
Albert shook his head vigorously, expelling all the flowers out onto the floor and onto some other passengers that looked rather annoyed. "So, you ready for this?" he asked.
"I guess so." I replied, tapping my nails on the pole. "Would it be okay if I stick around you all night?"
Albert nodded. "I was gonna suggest that."
I leaned over to put my arm around him, pulling him closer to me with a big smile. "Let's do this." Albert smiled and wrapped his arm around me too.
After walking a couple blocks, we made it to the party destination. I looked up to see an apartment complex. It looked to be one of the more modern and expensive kinds.
"How'd Nick get us an invite to this place?" Albert said to me as we walked hand in hand up the front stairs.
"By being Nick." I said with a soft chuckle.
Nick came out of nowhere and roughly placed his hand on mg shoulder, startling me. "You guys talkin' shit?"
"What else would we be doing?" said Albert, playfully elbowing Nick.
"Fucking." Julian chimed in and I quickly turned around to slap him.
"Oh, you're so funny." I said with a poker face as I watched him rub the spot where I slapped him with a menacing grin.
We all squeezed ourselves tightly into an elevator along with a few other people who I assumed were going to the same party. There was light conversation between everyone for the duration of the ride.
The elevator stopped at the top floor and we all paraded out, stopping at a door at the end of the hallway. Lots of muffled commotion and music could be heard inside. Someone not from our group stepped forward to knock. Shortly, the door was opened by a guy wearing a blazer with sunglasses on and words scribbled messily all over his bare chest. Yep...he wasn't wearing a shirt. Odd.
"This is gonna be a weird one, huh?" I whispered to Albert as we waited for entry.
"Looks like it." he whispered back, squeezing my hand.
We walked inside to see a typical party, but most of the people there either looked like they were artists, or just complete weirdos. I figured Fab might get along with some of them. At that point, Nick was already off mingling like the little socialite he is.
"Drinks?" Nikolai asked, pointing to a table in the corner of the room surrounded by a few people that had miscellaneous bottles of alcohol and stacks of red cups on it.
Fab shrugged. "Might as well."
Julian and I shared a nervous glance.
"Should we, or shouldn't we?" I whispered in his direction as we followed Nikolai, Fab and Albert over to the table.
"I'm sure one won't hurt?" he said with an unsure look.
"Famous last words." said the guy with words scribbled on his chest as he walked past us, heading for the table.
"He's quite a character." I giggled, watching the guy chug down a cup of whiskey after saying something to Fab.
A grin spread across Julian's lips. "Let's talk to him!"
