After an hour or two, we'd became quite well acquainted with the strange shirtless guy who had poetry scribbled all over his bare chest. His name was Adam and it turns out he was working on a music project of his own, too, with a friend of his whom he insisted we meet one day.

"Why aren't you guys drinking anything?!" Adam yelped in disbelief, almost falling off the sofa we were sat on. He was quite tipsy and probably on drugs.

"We're trying to slow down a little." said Julian with a subtle shrug of his shoulders.

"Nonsense!" Adam chuckled. "Julian, you're almost a rockstar! Rockstars don't 'slow down', man."

"C'mon, dude...I wouldn't really say th--" Julian was cut off by a bottle of Jack Daniel's being stuffed in his mouth. Adam held it there until Julian took a generous swig...or two...or three.

"Keep going!" he cheered, looking like he was enjoying it too much. Julian was almost choking, but powered through it all, ingesting about a third of the bottle in such little time.

Adam grabbed the bottle off Julian, who looked like he was about to throw up, and he turned to me. "Now for the lady!"

"I really shouldn't." I shook my head in refusal, pushing the bottle away, but that only made Adam more eager to force it down my throat. He did the same thing to me that he did to Julian, and before we knew it, we all had our arms around each other and were singing along drunkenly to whatever was blasting on the stereos at the time.

"It was really fuckin' awesome meeting you guys," Adam slurred, pulling a black marker out of his pocket. "...I've gotta head out now."

"Aww, really?" I whined with a frown, before looking over at Julian who was almost half asleep.

"Yeah, but here, gimme your arm." Adam grabbed my arm and rolled my sleeve up. He scribbled down his phone number and then pulled my sleeve back down. "Keep in touch?" He then handed me the marker and pointed to his chest.

"For sure." I looked for an empty spot to write my number, and I scribbled it down. "Bye, Adam." I gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek

Adam jumped up and stumbled a few feet away, then turning back around. "Make sure Julian gets it too! See 'ya!"

As I watched Adam leave the apartment, I came to a sudden realisation and I grabbed Julian's arm, startling him out of his haze. "Where's Albert? I was supposed to stay with Albert! Fuck, I'm drunk. We're drunk, Jules!"

Julian slowly lifted his head to look at me. He blinked a few times and looked around, then nodding. "I'm fucking waaaaaasted." he laughed.

"What do we do?" I was starting to freak out as I scanned the crowd, searching for Albert.

"Nothing...nothing bad's happening." he slurred, leaning over to rest his head on my shoulder. "Don't worry about it."

"I'm scared, Julian."

"Whyyyy?"

I watched warily as he placed his hand on my thigh. "I dunno, Jules. I just...I said I wouldn't let this happen and--"

"Hey, you two!" I was cut off by a voice I'm usually not too excited to hear, but at that exact time I wouldn't have wanted it to be anyone else.
