I got up and showered an hour before I started making breakfast. I quickly whipped up some pancakes and hummed along to the radio as I poured a cup of coffee and made myself comfortable on the couch.
Julian soon walked in with his hair messier than usual and half-open eyes, signalling that he'd only just woken up.
"Morning, Jules." I greeted him by jumping up to stand on my tiptoes and flattening his hair for him with a smile. "Pancakes are in the kitchen."
"Ooh, rad!" He grinned, jogging into the kitchen.
"Is Albie up yet?"
Julian spoke through a mouthful of food. "He's showering."
"Is he okay?"
"He will be." Julian said, then joining me on the couch with a plate of pancakes.
"Poor thing." I sighed, squeezing my eyes shut. "I drove him to do that, y'know."
Julian huffed. "He did that all by himself."
"Whatever." I growled as I threw my head back on the couch.
"You know," he raised his fork with a smile. "...you did something last night that I haven't heard you do in a while."
"What?"
"You talked in your sleep a little." he explained. "You said my name a couple names." He finished with a smirk.
I froze, placing my cup of coffee down on the table. "Excuse me?"
"Yeah...it was cute."
I could feel my face heating up as I cleared my throat.
"Were you dreaming about me?" Julian asked, not taking his eyes off me.
"I, uhh-"
He stared off into the distance and spoke with a hushed voice. "I dream about you sometimes."
I bit my bottom lip, beginning to feel quite flustered and I jumped up. "I'm gonna go check on Albert."
"Okay..?" Julian said confusedly. "Can I have your coffee?"
"Go ahead!" I called back as I rushed over to the bathroom door.
I knocked on the door and pressed my face up against it. The shower was still running, so I knocked again.
"What?" Albert shouted over the running water.
"Can I come in?" I whisper-yelled through the crack in the door.
"Uhm...I'm naked?!"
"I won't look!" I pleaded.
"Whatever!"
I pushed the door open and leaped inside, closing it behind me. I closed the lid of the toilet and sat down, my back to the shower.
"You feeling okay?" I asked Albert as I twiddled my thumbs. "I've decided not to lecture you."
"Yeah...are you?" he asked with a soft chuckle.
"Julian's freaking me out, man."
"What's he done this time?"
I decided I'd skip the part about me talking in my sleep, because that'd only make Albert think worse of me.
"He told me he dreams about me sometimes."
Albert poked his head out of the shower. "What kinda dreams are we talkin' about here?"
