I jolted awake as the sun shone down on my face. Feeling like I'd only slept for a couple hours, I glanced at the clock and gasped, as it read 10:36AM. It was then that I'd noticed I was alone...and that's when I started freaking out.
"Julian?! Jules!" I cried out as I ran about the apartment like a headless chicken, fearing the worst. "Where's Julian?!"
Nick popped his head out of my bedroom door with an amused grin. "Calm down, drama queen! He's in the shower."
"Drama queen?!" I gasped, ready to slap him. "He almost d-"
"Yeah, yeah, he almost died, we get it!" he cut me off. "He's fine, though. I promise. Talked to him about ten minutes ago...or at least, I think it was him. Is your apartment haunted by any chance? Maybe he did die. Coulda been his ghost!" He then raised his fists with a scowl. "I'll fight him!"
I ignored his stupid jokes, feeling a sense of relief, and I leant against the wall for support as I took in deep breaths to calm myself down. "You're right, I am a drama queen." I chuckled, turning to Nick. "Sorry."
"Apology accepted." He looked very pleased with himself.
I sternly pointed a finger at him. "Don't get cocky now, ghostbuster."
He tapped a finger to his chin, his eyebrows knitted together. "Ghostbuster...I like that."
"In that case, I'm not calling you that ever again."
Julian walked out of the bathroom, singing the Ghostbusters theme song as he towel-dried his hair. "Who you gonna call?!" He pointed to Nick.
"Ghostbusters!" yelled Nick.
Julian pointed to me. "Who you gonna call?!"
I had to hold back a giggle as I put on a serious face. "Is that all you have to say to me? No good morning or anything?"
"Aw, Jade! Don't leave him hangin'!" Fab waltzed out of Albert's room. "Ghostbusters!"
The rest of tune was sang by Nikolai from my bedroom.
"I hate you all!" I groaned, trudging into the kitchen.
I found myself humming the theme song as I made myself coffee and I shook my head with a smile, slightly disappointed in myself.
"That song is a fucking earworm, right?" Julian said with an amused grin as he came up behind me.
"No comments on your latest near death experience?"
"To be honest, I don't remember shit. But thank you for looking after me. I'd be dead without you around and that's a fact." He planted a kiss on my cheek, causing me to smile. "Oh! And I have some good news."
"Go on..."
"I called Karen this morning and we talked about what I could remember from the gig last night, and then I asked her if she'd like to play a show together sometime, because a while back, Ryan asked me if we knew any good bands we could play and get friendly with to help with publicity and such..." he took a breath, looking slightly embarrassed at the fact that he'd rambled. "...so yeah...she said yes, and we have a gig tonight. I don't know how Ryan found us a venue so soon, but he did. That guy is a miracle worker."
"Tonight?" I frowned. "So soon! Especially after you-"
"I know, I know!" he chuckled. "I'm fine, though. In fact, I'm excited. I feel good!" He flashed a heartwarming smile, doing a little dance to prove his good health.
I scrutinised him for a second and giggled. While he looked quite tired, he did seem completely recovered. "Well...if you insist..." I continued to stare with a skeptical look, then cracking a smile. "I'm so happy for you! This'll be so fun!"
"Yeah! But I feel kinda bad springing it on Albert, though." His smile faded as he spoke. "He got up so early for work and he's gonna be super tired...especially after dealing with my shit all night."
"He'll definitely be tired, but I'm sure he'll be just as excited!"
"Do you think you could sell more of our shirts at the gig?"
"Of course. Did you get more made?"
"Ryan did. They look even better than the last bunch!" He kissed me on the cheek once again. "Also, we'll have to play a gig with The Moldy Peaches soon for sure."
"Oh...I don't know about that..."
"Come on! We still haven't seen you guys play yet!"
"I don't think we're ready for a show just yet." I shook my head.
Julian smirked. "Oh, really? Adam said otherwise."
I gasped, stepping back from him. "What did you make him do!"
"His friend who runs a venue wants you guys to play there sometime!"
"Why am I hearing this from you!"
"He called this morning and you were asleep, so I said I'd pass on the message."
"You've mighty been busy with the phone today." I said with a frown. "And I'm not ready!"
"What can I say?" He shrugged. "I'm a social butterfly."
"That's Nick's title."
"You called?" Nick appeared in the kitchen with a smirk.
I picked up my coffee and took a generous sip. "I did not. Go away."
"Quit being so mean!" whined Nick with a childish pout. "Oh, and by the way...you're out of cereal and bread. Fab cleaned you out this morning."
"God damnit, Fabrizio!" I yelled out. "Looks like you're coming grocery shopping!"
"Nooooo!" Fab's cries echoed throughout the apartment, making everyone laugh.
