"No. Ruby. I don't care." Emma snapped at her friend before taking a swig of beer from the bottle.
"You do care. Deep down you do." Ruby said kneeling down in front of her friend. "You spent so many happy years together as friends and then so many together as a couple. Don't let her go...Because if you let go now you've lost her forever."
"I broke her heart. I left without a word. Start calling me Zayn Swan because I broke up with her over text. That's cruel. Heartless...She deserves to be happy with someone else."
"She wants you." Ruby said getting fustrated. "She wants you and only you. Tonight is your last chance to get her back." She said standing up and looking around. Once she saw what she was looking for she hurried over, grabbing the pen and writing something down. "She's not far from here. Maybe a ten minute walk. Do what's best for you both. I know you don't believe in happy endings but I do. You're eachothers." And with that Ruby placed the paper in front of Emma and made her way to the door. She turned around slightly and saw Emma crumple the paper up and throw it next to the fire.
Ruby sighed and shook her head, walking out of the door leaving Emma to do whatever.
I probably had a bit too much to drink
Once Emma heard the door shut, she let out a small sigh before taking a sip from the bottle. Her fourth of the night. Her eyes landed on the piece of paper by the fire and shook her head.
She felt her heart aching...She missed her. She couldn't do this to herself. Or Regina....But her heart got the best of her as she reached into her pocket, pulling out her phone and entering Regina's number before pressing call.
It rang and rang. She felt her heart drop as she realised Regina probably changed her number...Until...
"He-Hello?" A groggy voice answered the phone.
It's a little after midnight you were probably asleep
"Hi..." Emma replied shyly as she heard Regina's tired voice. Scolding herself in her head for waking her up...Even though it was only 12:10.
I bet that you're surprised to hear from me
"Emma!" Regina said surprised, but clearly more awake. "How..How did you...How did you find my number?"
I still have your number memorized
Emma chuckled slightly and took a sip from her drink. "Well...I know I deleted it but I remembered it so I tried that number hoping for the best."
"You did that alot when we were kids. You would delete all your saved data on whatever game console you had and start all over again even after getting past a really hard part that took you hours to do. You just hoped for the best and tried to remember how you did it the first time around."
Emma chuckled and leaned into the sofa. "I was such a werid child."
Regina laughed and a smile grew on Emma's face as she heard the beautiful laugh for the first time in...Eight years.
I know it's been eight years but I still got these butterflies
Emma felt the familiar feeling of butterflies in her stomach and she bit her lip. It was as if she never left...
I know I might sound crazy
"Hey...Would you like to meet up?" Emma suggested forgetting what the time was.
"Emma." Regina sighed. "It's after twelve and I have a flight in the morning."
"What?"
"I'm what people would call an important business woman. I have to go to New York."
