People cheered, people laughed, people cried, as the time drew closer to midnight.
The chilly air didn't bother anyone, they were happy, they were having fun.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. We are just one minute away from midnight." David spoke into the mic earning a chorus of cheering.
Emma and Regina walked through the crowd, weaving in and out of people, pushing their way through the drunks. Trying to find eachother, both wanting to start the new year off the same way.
Emma silently cursed to herself as she failed to find Regina and time was ticking down, Regina was almost close to tears. Scared she wouldn't make it in time. She felt like this was the only time she'd have the confidence to do what she was going to do.
"Fifteen seconds." They both heard David say in the mic.
Just as it was the ten second countdown, they found eachother.
They slowly made their way towards eachother, six seconds left.
Their eyes never drifted, their eyes remained on eachother.
"Happy new year." They spoke at the same time before they both leaned in and slowly kissed eachother as the clock struck midnight and the fireworks began to go off.
They pulled away from the kiss, smiles on both of their faces.
"I can't think of a better way to start the new year, than with you being my girlfriend, what do you say Regina Mills? Will you be my girlfriend?" Emma asked, hopeful after they had just shared a sweet and tender kiss.
"Yes." Regina nodded her head. "I will."
The two shared another kiss as the fireworks continued to explode around them, just like how it felt when they kissed. It was a perfect moment and the perfect way to start the new year. As eachothers.
