"We're done."
Those were the last words Regina had said, or more like shouted at Emma. Emma had begged to no avail. Her and Regina were done. She had lost her everything. She didn't know what to do.
She sat alone in her hotel room, scrolling through her phone, seeing what Regina had been up to. There was no updates from her.
Emma sighed as closed her eyes and the tears began to pour from her eyes for the third time that night.
If only she had controlled her emotions, maybe she'd be cuddling Regina right now as they watched a stupid Romance movie.
If only she had controlled her emotions, maybe everything would be okay.
She was tempted...So tempted to break her promise.
She checked her phone for any messages from Regina and when there was none, she decided then and there to break her promise. She had nothing anymore anyway.

Regina checked her phone for any new messages, hoping for one. One more message that's all she wanted, to see if Emma really loved her and wanted her back. She felt stupid for what she had done, she couldn't just turn around and randomly say to Emma that they're back together. She needed one more message and then she would invite the blonde over.
She had waited a day.
Which turned into a week.
Which turned into a month.
She was about to give up when she heard a knock at the door. She quickly walked towards it, hoping it was Emma but became disappointed as she opened the door to see her best friend Kathryn stood there.
"You haven't heard have you?" She asked.
Regina gave her friend a confused look as she stepped to the side. "Heard what?"
Kathryn didn't go inside, she grabbed Regina's wrist and pulled her outside.
"What are you doing?" Regina asked confused as they reached Kathryn's car.
"Get in." Is all she replied with.
Regina grew worried with each minute that passed. She had no idea what was happening.
The car eventually stopped and her heart dropped as they had stopped at the cemetery.
"Why are we here?" Regina asked as she felt her heart speed up.
Without a word, Kathryn led her through the cemetery. Walking past countless graves until they reached a new one. An American flag draped over the headstone.
Regina fell to her knees as she read the headstone.
Emma Swan
October 23rd 1983 - September 25th 2017
A loved daughter, grand-daughter, sister, niece and friend. Protected her Country. Private Swan, it was an honor to serve with you. Rest in peace.
"She joined the army." Regina cried as she traced over Emma's name. "She promised me she wouldn't."
Kathryn knelt down next to her friend and placed a hand on her back.
"How could she leave me like this?! I thought she loved me."
Kathryn was one to speak her mind, no matter the circumstances and no matter how harsh the words were. "You were the one to leave her. You broke up with her. She thought you loved her. You gave up so easily. People in relationships go through worse than what you two did and they come out stronger. You just gave up. So she did too."
Regina couldn't believe what her friend was saying. "You're blaming me?!"
"No, it's just...If you had been stronger...Maybe she would still be alive."
"So you are blaming me."
She was about to punch Kathryn when she heard the sound of a band...Her eyes widened when she realised it was the military band.
She ran through the cemetery until she reached an open area of grass where a group of people were gathered.
She jumped slightly as she heard the sound of guns being fired. The guns were being fired in respect to Emma.
It wasn't a trick for Emma to get her back. It was reality. Emma was gone and she was never coming back.
Regina had lost her everything and she would never get it back, no matter how many tears she cried. No matter how many times she begged for forgivness. Emma was gone forever.
