It had been a tough few weeks for Regina Mills. Her best friend had died in a car accident a few weeks ago. A car accident that she had witnessed. She closed her eyes, trying to stop the tears that threatened to spill.
Her body soon relaxed as she heard a familar song play. It was the song Emma would play to cheer her up. Perfect by Ed Sheeran.
It was coming from outside her bedroom window, so she slowly got up from her bed and made her way towards the window. Her eyes locking on a couple down the street. He was proposing to his girlfriend.
Regina's eyes flickered to the spot Emma once stood at when Regina was grounded and she wasn't allowed to go to the Ed Sheeran concert to Emma sang his songs for her.
Looking from a window above
"Anymore requests for my grounded Queen?" Emma smirked.
"You're my best friend Emma, not my girlfriend. You don't have to be so nice to me."
"Yes I do." Emma argued. "I'm your best friend it's my job to be nice to you...Although..." Emma trailed off.
It's like a story of love
"I would like a promotion...To be your girlfriend." Emma said as she scratched the back of her neck.
Regina's lips parted slightly in shock and she froze in place.
"I'm kidding Gina." Emma laughed. "Totally kidding." She said but not loud enough for Regina to hear.
Regina looked away as the tears slowly fell, all she had wanted was for Emma to be her girlfriend. She thought to herself sometimes at night that maybe if she had said yes then Emma might still be here. She knew from the way Emma spoke she wasn't kidding.
Came back only yesterday
"So you know how I've been in LA for two weeks?" Emma said as she sat down next Regina on the sofa.
"Ugh, don't remind me. It was awful without you."
Emma sighed as she placed her hand on top of Regina's. "I'm moving there...Tomorrow. My parents allowed me to come back to say goodbye."
Regina stood up quickly, she was angry and she was upset.
"You're my best friend! You're not supposed to leave me! You're supposed to stay and be there for me. You're meant to stay with me forever. I need you Emma. I've needed you since we met. Please don't go."
"I'm sorry." Emma cried.
I'm moving further away
Regina cried as she remembered the last words she spoke to Emma before the accident.
"I hate you Emma Swan."
Now she's dead and she couldn't take those words back. If she didn't say those words, Emma wouldn't have died. She wouldn't have drived away, only to turn back because she needed to tell Regina how she felt. That she loved her.

"You're my best friend! You're not supposed to leave me! You're supposed to stay and be there for me. You're meant to stay with me forever. I need you Emma. I've needed you since we met. Please come back." Regina cried. "
All I needed was the love you gave
Emma stormed out of the house, her face burning with anger and the tears that streamed down her face. She didn't give Regina's house a second thought as she drove back to her house. Her grip on the wheel was tight but soon loosened as she began to relax.
She couldn't leave this way, she had to tell Regina exactly how she felt.
She quickly did a U-Turn and drove back to her best friends house.
Regina began to pace around her living room, she needed to tell Emma she was sorry and didn't mean it. She grabbed her car keys and made her way outside, she smiled when she saw Emma's car coming back but soon, her smile turned into a frown and she dropped to her knees as a car speeded down the road, straight into Emma's.
The sound of the impact made Regina cringed and cover her ears.
Regina fell to the floor and she rested her back against the bed as she heard the impact all over again. She closed her eyes and covered her ears. Her body shaking with her sobs as she began to relive that moment.
"Em.." She began as she slowly began to stand up. Her legs wobbling slightly. "Emma." She manged to say.
She quickly walked to Emma's car and her heart stopped as she saw Emma laying lifeless. Her face all bloody, her head resting against the half broken window.
"Emma." Regina cried.
Emma's eyes opened slowly. She looked towards Regina and gave a weak smile.
"I love you Regina, that's all I wanted you to know." Emma said weakly.
"I love you Emma." Regina cried as she held her head tightly.
"I...I di-" She got cut off as Emma closed her eyes, a smile still on her face. "Emma?" Regina said searching her body for any sign of life in her. "Emma...No." Regina whispered. "Don't leave me I need you. I love you too."
All I needed for another day
Regina began to cry harder, if she had just told Emma how she felt sooner, if only she had said yes to Emma being her girlfriend then maybe she'd still be here and she wouldn't be dead.
"It's my fault." She cried. "All my fault."
"It's not your fault."
She heard Emma's voice in her head and it broke her heart.
"Emma." She yelled out as tears continued to fall.
And all I ever knew
"Nobody made me feel the way you did. You're the only one who truely made me feel loved and wanted in this cruel world. You're the only one who never left when times got tough. You're the only one who I've ever fell in love with and was willing to give my heart to, but now it's too late." Regina sniffled before looking outside her window and looking up at the sky. "I don't want nobody else."
