Chapter 17 - Girls V Guys Pt.5

Friday- 5/3/18- It was the final day of the five challenge series between the guys and the girls. The winners of that days challenge would be travelling with Paul Levesque to Wrestlemania 34.

The rookies were so excited for the final challenge. AJ was back in Team Red after missing a couple of days through injury and she was most excited to prove herself to her teammates.

The teams made their way to the Performance Centre where Paul Levesque and Chris Jericho stood outside waiting for them. They lined up in front of the two of them.

Paul Levesque- "Me and Chris have been talking and although you guys didn't notice Chris was watching every challenge that you guys did this week and we have both agreed that all of you are in the right physical condition for the final challenge. The last challenge will take place in the performance centre in front of current WWE Superstars on the main roster and NXT Superstars as well. Team Blue will face Team Red in a five versus five elimination tag team match. The winners will go to Wrestlemania 34 with me. Chris Jericho will be the referee and I will be the special guest enforcer to make sure you guys fight fairly. Let's go inside and do this thing."

The trainees followed Paul and Chris inside and gave the two teams separate locker rooms to get ready for their match. They were all nervous but excited for the big occasion facing them. After quick pep talks they were ready.

Team Red entered first to a standing ovation. The crowd cheered as the five girls made their way to the ring to get into a battle. The guys entered next and the crowd clapped and cheered. Sami, Finn and Seth gave high fives to a couple of familiar faces but Dean and Roman were fully focused and emotionless.

It would be Dean and Paige, the two captains, starting things off. Paul Levesque was ready at ringside. Referee Chris Jericho called for the bell and the match was started. Dean grappled Paige by the head, Paige threw Dean against the ropes, leapfrogged over him as he rebounded back to her, did an arm drag on Dean and Dean bailed to the floor holding his arm. He took a small breather before stepping back into the ring. He took Paige by the head again and went behind into a hammer lock. He pushed his foot into the back of Paige's leg pushing her onto her knees and eventually had her face down as he held the hammer lock in tight with one knee in her back.

Paige reversed and put Dean on the ground and made the tag to Becky who hit Dean with a huge forearm to the jaw knocking Dean down. Becky then started kicking and kneeing into the midsection of Dean while he tried to reach for a tag to a partner of his. Becky pulled him back to the middle of the ring and suplexed Dean and went for a pin but only got a one count.

She pushed Dean against the ropes but Finn was able to tag Dean's back. Becky back body dropped Dean but Finn hit her with a sling blade and took control of the match. He put a bow in arrow submission on Becky. Becky was able to get back on her feet and mount offence. She hit Finn with a couple of clotheslines, hit a neck breaker, put Finn in the corner and hit him with a stinger splash.

Becky was on a role, she climbed the top rope getting ready to jump when Seth Rollins ran up to her to try to put her off but she easily kicked Seth off the ring apron. It gave Finn enough time to get up and he ran at Becky and delivered a belly to belly suplex from the top rope. Finn pulled himself over to Roman Reigns who tagged himself in. He waited for Becky to get up before breaking her in half with a devastating spear. Roman pinned Becky for the three count and Team Red lost a team member.

AJ stepped into the ring to fight Roman. Roman just laughed at her, picked her up and slammed her hard onto the mat. Roman tagged Seth who hit a massive frog splash which impressed the wrestlers in the crowd but only earned Seth a two count. He pulled AJ to her feet and powerbombed her into the turnbuckle and then kicked her in the stomach and then the face. Seth put her onto her knees, ran against the ropes and hit her with a stomp to the head. The crowd felt the impact of the stomp. Seth pinned AJ and got a three count meaning that Team Red only had three members left compared to Team Blue's five. Seth tagged in Sami.

Sasha Banks got in the ring and ran over to Team Blue's corner and put the four members of the team in the corner onto the floor. Sami ran over to grab Sasha but Sasha ducked, crawled through Sami's legs, hit him with a backstabber and locked in a crossface like submission. Sami tapped out and Dean got in the ring to hit Sasha but Dean was also hit with a backstabber and got the same submission Sami did. Roman and Seth reached out, grabbed Dean's hands and pulled him to the ropes for the rope break. The crowd booed.

Sasha kicked Roman but Seth pushed her over. Both Nikki and Paige jumped in the ring and clotheslined Seth over the top rope before both hitting Seth and Roman, who caught Seth falling, with suicide dives. The crowd was now red hot. Dean tagged in Finn.

Sasha looked at the carnage and was just about to hit a suicide dive of her own when Finn jumped in her way, Sasha hit Finn with a hurricanrana and caught him in a pinning position and Chris Jericho made a three count meaning Finn was eliminated and it was now three v three.

Seth made himself the legal man and after some back and forth between him and Sasha, Seth grabbed Sasha. He looked at Paul Levesque on the outside and nodded as he prepared to hit a pedigree (the move Paul made famous). Seth successfully performed the move and got a three count on Sasha. Team Blue now had the advantage again.

Seth tagged Roman in as Dean pushed Nikki into the ring. When she got up Roman speared her almost put her boots (almost as hard as the time he speared her outside the Performance Centre less than a year ago). Roman pinned Nikki for a three count meaning it was Paige against Dean, Roman and Seth. The three men got in the ring and stared down Paige. The three ran at her and started viciously beating her down. They hit her on any body part they could with any part of their body that could cause damage. Dean and Seth lifted Paige up. She couldn't stay up on her own. They lifted her up onto Roman's shoulders and then hit her with a triple powerbomb. Dean crawled onto her and pinned her for the win.

The crowd immediately began booing as Dean, Roman and Seth hugged in the ring. Chris Jericho raised their hands declaring them the winners. Sami and Finn came into the ring to join the celebrations. Paige looked up to see the guys celebrating and rolled out of the ring crying. Dean turned and noticed her walking away and for the first time in his life, he felt bad about something.

Paul Levesque got in the ring and shook all of the members of Team Blue's hands.

Paul Levesque- "Congrats on the win guys. Don't pay attention to the crowd. Looks like you five will be coming to Wrestlemania thirty four with me."

Paul and Chris left the ring and left the guys celebrating their win. They were ecstatic and couldn't wait for their trip to Wrestlemania.

They walked back to the locker room to get changed. After some celebrating in the changing room Dean and Seth went across to the girls changing room. Seth immediately went over to AJ to hug her and make sure she was doing ok and apologise for if he had hurt her.

Dean Ambrose- "Paige can I talk to you outside?"

Paige Bevis- "Sure."

Dean and Paige left the room and went down the corridor.

Paige Bevis- "What's wrong?"

Dean Ambrose- "I saw you crying as you left the ring and I wanted to ask if you were ok."

Paige Bevis- "It looks like you do have a conscience Dean, that's cute. Yeah I'm doing fine I was just a little emotional that's all. The occasion got to me."

Dean Ambrose- "No hard feelings that I pinned you?"

Paige Bevis- "So you were the asshat that pinned me. You hit my boob when you fell and it really hurt."

Dean Ambrose- "Well its only fair that you get to punch my chest to make up for it."

Paige Bevis- "Sounds good."

Paige punched Dean in the chest.

Dean Ambrose- "Is that all you've got?"

Paige Bevis- "I restrained from punching you really hard because I'd murder you."

Dean Ambrose- "Yeah I'm sure you would."

Paige pushed Dean and he got her in a headlock and they walked back to the locker rooms.

Authors Note: Team Blue won the best of five series and are going to Wrestlemania. Seth and AJ are doing good even after the events the unfolded. Why did Dean specifically make sure Paige was ok, why not the rest? As always remember to comment and vote on this Chapter and all the others in the book.
