Chapter 60 - Christmas Decorating

Saturday -18/12/18- It was the day before Dean, Seth and Roman would leave to head to the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View and Christmas was rapidly approaching.

Everyone, except the three Shield members, had gotten their Christmas presents but Seth, Dean and Roman had a plan to get their presents on their way back from TLC.

They were feeling the Christmas spirit though and, to show to the others that they did in fact care about Christmas, took some time away from preparing for TLC to hang Christmas decorations up in the hallway.

They went across to the convenience store to get decorations like banners, tinsel and bobbled to hang up.

On the way back, a memory of Roman's was triggered.

Roman Reigns- "I swear that we did this last year as well."

Dean Ambrose- "How did that end?

Roman Reigns- "Paige and Nikki started it, then I came out to help and then Seth came out to help. It actually went pretty well."

Dean Ambrose- "Considering I'm now helping, this is gonna be pretty bad."

Seth Rollins- "We can only try."

They got back to the apartments and, after grabbing a stepladder, got to hanging the tinsel and banners on the walls of the corridors and around the doorways.

They used blue tack and a stapler to put them up and, after about thirty minutes, they had finished putting up the banners and tinsel.

It came time to put up the hardest part, the Christmas tree.

It came in a box with the stand, which was in a lot of pieces.

Seth pulled all the parts out and looked at it.

Seth Rollins- "This looks like a freaking jigsaw puzzle, we need the instructions for this."

Roman threw Seth the instructions and Seth started building the base of the tree while Dean started messing around with the electrical wiring of the tree to try and make it light up when it's put in the stand.

Roman Reigns- "Dean, you know how to wire stuff?"

Dean Ambrose- "Of course I do, as a kid I had to mess with wiring in my TV to try and pick up ECW and WWE on my TV back in Cincinnati. It's really not that difficult if you know what you're doing."

Seth Rollins- "You have a very particular set of skills, you're like Liam Neeson in Taken."

Dean Ambrose- "I will find you, and I will kill you."

Roman Reigns- "Just don't try to imitate the dude's accent."

Dean Ambrose- "We should buy the Taken movies and watch them all."

Seth Rollins- "I'll buy them for you for Christmas."

Dean Ambrose- "That sounds good to me, the wiring is complete now too."

Seth Rollins- "The stand is just a bit obscure and awkward to put together because of the shape of the legs."

Roman Reigns- "Did you try clipping the top of the leg on the top of the stand, holding that in place and then pulling it towards the stand and clipping the bottom in?"

Seth tried what Roman suggested and it worked better than the method he was using.

Seth Rollins- "Looks like it worked."

Eventually, Seth got all the legs on the stand an sat it upright. Dean and Roman then lifted the tree into the stand. The tree successfully lit up and then the three fixed the branches to make them look as realistic and natural as a plastic, light up tree could.

They took a step back to admire their work.

Roman Reigns- "I think that we did a pretty good job."

Dean Ambrose- "Is the tree just staying out here?"

Seth Rollins- "Can you really be assed moving it?"

Dean Ambrose- "Good point."

Roman Reigns- "You guys have packed for TLC, right."

Seth Rollins- "Yeah, obviously."

Dean Ambrose- "Nope."

Roman Reigns- "Go pack now, our flight is really early tomorrow morning."

Dean Ambrose- "Relax man, it'll be fine, I'll be ready for when we go."

Seth Rollins- "WWE have our gear so don't look around for ages trying to find it."

Nikki came out of her room to see the corridor decorated all nicely.

Dean Ambrose- "Hey, Nikki, you like what we did with the place?"

Nikki Bella- "Guys, this is amazing, it really didn't feel like Christmas due to working all this time in the Performance Centre but, now that you put all this up, I'm in the Christmas spirit."

Nikki hugged the three Shield members at once.

Nikki Bella- "Also, if I don't see you guys later, have fun at TLC, please be safe though."

Dean Ambrose- "It's a TLC match, getting hurt is a guarantee."

Nikki Bella- "Then just be as safe as possible."

Seth Rollins- "We'll try."

Nikki went back to her room but, thought the day, the rest of the trainees would notice the decorations and thank Dean, Seth and Roman for their contribution and wish them luck for TLC.

It would be a huge day for them, the first match in WWE for The Shield, the first time they'd be able to prove why Paul Levesque invested so much time in them.
