Monday -3/3/18- Paul Levesque had told the rookies to meet him outside of the Performance Centre to find out what the first challenge would be.
Team Red walked together and about 100 metres behind them Team Blue walked. Dean was trying to calm down the rest of his team and give them some last minute advice about nerves.
Eventually everyone made it to the Performance Centre where Paul Levesque, Lita Dumas, Chris Jericho and Shane McMahon were stood.
Paul Levesque- "I am so glad that all of you guys could make it today. I'm sure you rookies know all of these people and all of us except Shane know you very well. Shane is here to evaluate you guys in terms of conduct, ability and maturity over these five days of challenges."
Shane McMahon- "What's up guys? Paul has told me so much about you and I'm happy to be working much closer with you guys over the next few days."
Paul Levesque- "Thank you Shane. Now it's time to tell you guys what your first sporting challenge will be. You guys will be driven ten minutes down the street to a five-a-side soccer pitch and you will play fifteen minutes then have a five minute half-time and then play the second half of fifteen minutes. You will play proper rules with a goalkeeper, penalties, fouls, free-kicks and so on. Whichever team scores the most goals during the game wins, if it's a draw after the thirty minutes we will go to next person who scores wins. Now it's time to go there."
The rookies turned around to see two buses, one with a blue stripe along the side and one with a red stripe along the side. The teams went on the bus with the stripe colour that represented their team. They were driven to the
five-a-side football arena which was a small football pitch with a big metal fence around it. Unexpectedly there were around one hundred people stood outside it as Paul was able to get people to come watch to add more pressure. The two teams went to separate halves to warm up for the game and get tactics, positions and soccer shirts.
That lasted fifteen minutes and finally the teams were ready and the line-ups, numbers and formations were as follows.
The teams were having team talks in their separate halves. Paige talked to the Red Team.
Paige Bevis- "Ok guys we need to get off to a good start here today, Becky me and you need to get the ball to Sasha. Sasha move about, find space and if you are being marked play it back to the defence and get into another space and if Nikki is free play it to her and Nikki put shots low and hard."
Dean was talking to Team Blue.
Dean Ambrose- "Ok guys give the ball to Sami or Finn and you guys hold it up, me and Seth will bomb up the wings. Play it to us for the cross or we'll shoot. Sami you stay up top at all times, Finn when they have the ball you sit back and make a back three with me and Seth where you sit central."
The two teams were called to the middle by Paul Levesque.
Paul Levesque- "I went over the rules before, you all know them, everyone shake hands."
Everyone shook hands as instructed by Paul Levesque.
Paul Levesque- "Captains stay in the middle, the others back to your half."
Dean and Paige stayed in the middle.
Paul Levesque- "I'll flip the coin Paige call it in the air. Winner gets kick off."
Paul flipped the coin, Paige called heads and it landed on heads meaning Team Red got kick off.
The teams were set up as follows.
