GRAYSONS POV

Elizabeth stared at her plate shyly after I told her she would learn tonight. I could feel her excitement and couldn't help but laugh a little myself. She was too cute.

I had to stop myself from teasing her anymore. I wasn't just teasing her, but myself too. I wanted her. I always wanted her. Even more so after marking her. Feeling her heart race every time I'm near and the excitement and lust that filled her when I first touched her thigh was enough to make me almost lose control.

I was still bothered by ray kissing her, and that she allowed it to happen but Jewell made good points in her defense. I couldn't stay mad at Elizabeth anyways. I knew she loved me... although I still had my doubtful days.

I put an arm on the back of Elizabeth's chair and rubbed her back slowly. I knew she was scared being around this many vampires and I hated her being here but she chose to come and I wasn't going to stop her. We are quickly and Xavier decided it was time to socialize more. His father, Richard would be joining the party soon.

Richard, the king of vampires. I wasn't all that nervous to see him. Growing up with Xavier I was used to being around him. He was a harsh man when it came to laws and humans but he still had a good side.

Once we got up from the table I noticed one vampire eyeing Elizabeth as she talked to Jewell.
He better stay the distance he's at or we would have a problem.

Elizabeth laughed loudly at something Jewell said and caught my attention.

"Having fun?" I muttered in her ear and she nodded, tears from laughing gathered in her eyes. The way they shone made my heart melt.

Jewell was blinking backs tears herself and Xavier walked away to speak to some others.
The smile slowly disappeared from her face as he walked away and she quieted down. There was something there, I could tell she had feelings for him. Whether or not she knew that he returned those feelings, I wasn't sure. I gave her a small smile and she turned her attention to us.

"Say Grayson how old are you?" I shrugged at her question.

"Oh Grayson why don't you tell her which dinosaur was your favorite one to ride to school?" Elizabeth burst out laughing at her own joke and I smirked at her, holding back my own smile at my little mates wit.

"Gee that was so long ago I just don't remember. Elizabeth, I'm surprised you can even pronounce dinosaur. You have such a great vocabulary" I snapped back at her and she glared playfully.

"I'm surprised you're up this late honestly. A bit past your bed time" I continued on and her glare got worse. She looked so cute when she tried to hold back her giggles.

Jewell was laughing hysterically and let out a big sigh.

"I love what you two have" she whispered and Elizabeth frowned.

"Don't worry" Elizabeth touched jewels shoulder and tried to smile.

"You won't be alone like this forever. You deserve more" she sounded confident for her new friend.

I admired how Elizabeth tried to help everyone. There wasn't a bad bone in this humans body. Human. She was a human. I wanted her to stay that way no matter what. I wanted her to keep that light that is in her soul and to continue being so happy and kind. I couldn't stand the thought of her dying one day but I wanted her to have a natural life. She was gorgeous. More gorgeous than any vampire I had seen before. She made everything better. She was so young but still so smart and I loved her so fucking much I couldn't stand the thought of her being gone but I couldn't make her live an eternity in pain just for me. I've been selfish all of my life and it has to end with her, so she can be happy.
