ELIZABETHS POV
I stared out of the window, pressing my forehead against it I shut my eyes. I haven't left this stupid room in two weeks... I wanted out so badly. The room was cozy and all but damn, I missed people. I missed jewel and Xavier and most of all I missed Grayson. I missed him so badly that it hurts. I was certain that he hated me though...I attacked him and the guilt I felt for that was overwhelming.
I hated feeling people walking around the castle. So many times they'd stop outside the door and then leave. I wanted interaction aside from the nurses and King Richard. There was someone new in the castle, a strangely familiar feeling about them. I could feel them getting closer. Someone else was with them...Grayson?
I gasped and looked at the door with anticipation. Xavier was there too.. and Jewel. I rubbed my hands together anxiously. They all paused.
Only one entered the room and I stared with wide eyes. It was an older woman? I didn't know her but I felt like I did. She shut the door and locked it, Turning and smiling at me warmly. I kept my defenses up.
"Hello Elizabeth. My name is Gloria." She spoke softly and walked towards me.
"Hello" I whispered, who the hell was this?
"I'm here to help you. I'm like you." She held her hand out to me slowly and I looked at her nervously.
"Like..me?" I questioned slowly and she nodded, motioning for me to touch her.
"You'll feel it. I have magic too." I slowly reached out and held her hand in mine, gasping at the feeling. I felt it. I didn't know how to explain the strange feeling of power and warmth I felt from her. I looked at her with wide eyes and she smiled, laughing lightly.
"Let's sit and talk, okay?" She nodded towards the table in the room and I sat down quickly.
"You're like me? How?" I rushed my words out and she laughed again.
"I was also born human. My parents told me of my magic, and warned for me not to transition. You see, when I was your age there were wars going on in the supernatural world. People knew of my existence and were searching for me. They wanted to change me and use me to win the war. I stayed in hiding until the wars ended on their own, I had found my mate in that time. When we decided it was safe, he turned me." She smiled at me, a slight sadness glinted in her eyes.
"You have a mate, yes?" She questioned me and I nodded quickly.
"Yes. His name is Grayson." I whispered and she nodded.
"I met him briefly. A nice young man." She nodded once and I leaned forward
"You met him? How is he? Is he..." I trailed off and she placed a hand over mine.
"He seems well. He actually found me, to help you. You attacked him, from what I understand?" My chest ached at her question. I nodded slowly, tears welling up in my eyes.
"Oh, dear. You showed restraint. You didn't kill him. Most of us cannot say that. You have a strength I've never seen in fledgling before. Grayson will always be able to stop you, you just have to be listening." She spoke firmly and I held back my tears.
"I killed my first mate, Elizabeth. You must be careful around him. You can survive off of other blood, but his fuels your power. That's why you did what you did. It isn't your fault." She whispered reassuringly and I sighed, wiping my eyes.
