GRAYSONS POV

I walked silently through the feeding halls, dodging the various workers I passed.

Everyone was nice enough.. I just didn't feel like socializing. There's only so many ways you can respond to people gushing over your soon-to-be-born child.
I made it a habit to get up before Elizabeth now and get her blood from Alex, the teenager that I decided on. After the baby is born I planned on having him moved out of this wing entirely. He had better potential than this.

I stopped at the room that Alex was held in, staring in confusion. He wasn't here.

I stopped a passing nurse, pointing to his empty room.

"Alex. Where is he?" I felt uneasy. Extremely uneasy.

She looked back at me in confusion.

"You had his room moved?" she said this like she was asking me. I shook my head quickly and she pulled out her clipboard, obviously flustered now.

"A man came saying you requested he was moved somewhere more private. Did you not..?" She trailed off, a hint of fear in her eyes.

"No. No I didn't. What man? Where is Alex?" Panic was starting to fill me. If somebody was messing around with this kid.. he's the only one that supplies blood to Elizabeth now aside from me.

I followed the nurse down the hallway towards the more secluded area. This was where they kept the 'higher ranking' blood slaves. Rare blood types, certain health conditions. The things that made blood special.

She led me to his room quickly, he jumped up when I barged in.

"Who moved you?" I demanded shutting the door behind me. I didn't need the nurse listening in. I didn't know who was to be trusted around here. He looked at me in confusion.

"T-this man said-" he stopped speaking abruptly when I shook my head.

"No. I didn't tell anyone to move you. Did you see the man?" I could feel my fangs pushing through. That uneasiness was turning into full fledged panic. I had already mind linked Xavier telling him what happened and to check on Elizabeth. Somebody had to of tampered with the blood she'd be consuming.

"I passed someone with blood bags" I muttered to myself, it hit me suddenly. I passed someone while I was walking down our hallway, they were heading towards our room with a blood bag. I started pacing as Alex stammered.

"I did see him, at least I think. What's going on?" His voice suddenly died down, and he swallowed hard. I didn't care about their stupid slave rules about how they weren't allowed to ask questions or even speak unless spoken to.

I walked over, yanking off his arm restraints. I nodded towards the door and his eyes widened.

"Come on" I growled, leading him out of the room. He tripped over his own feet trying to keep up with my pace.

"Please don't make me pick you up" I grumbled and he nodded, jogging to keep up with me.

My eyes widened when Xavier came into view, nurses rushing by with Elizabeth.

I left Alex in the dust, Xavier's hands grabbing my shoulders.

"Stop stop stop" he spoke calmly and I saw red.

"I was right" I snarled at him, trying to push past him he held his grip on me.

"Yes. Take it down a notch" he hissed at me and I shoved him back a few steps, baring my fangs.

"Take it down a notch!? Somebody poisoned her!" I yelled and Alex caught up now, panting. He stared with wide eyes.

"Nobody is allowed in or out until we know what's gone on. You, did you see who had you move rooms?" Xavier grabbed his shoulder and he nodded, his whole body trembled.
