XAVIERS POV
I stood impatiently behind a chair at my fathers desk. He was strumming his fingers against the wood impatiently. I knew I was getting on his nerves, but frankly, I didn't care.
"I just don't think it's the best idea." I continued on and he sighed, folding his hands together.
"I'm giving her a once in a lifetime opportunity. Trying to give this poor little human girl all she really wants. What's so bad about that?" He has fake sincerity in his voice. I rolled my eyes.
"We both know that's not your intentions. You want to awake the magic in her blood." I spoke lowly and he smirked now. Amusement danced in his eyes.
"I don't see why Grayson hasn't already done it himself." He spoke curtly and I glared.
"Dad c'mon. She has a werewolf for a dad. She never once considered why her sister got the gene and she didn't. She has no idea what lies within her. Chosen by the freaking Goddess to be the one with dormant magic in her blood? She was meant to be with an alpha for starters-"
"Obviously the plan changed. She's supposed to serve under the Sun Goddess now. As a vampire!" He hissed at me and I sighed. He wasn't going to back down.
"We just have no idea what we are dealing with here." I whispered cautiously and he nodded slowly.
"That's why we are doing it here. She needs us to guide her. And the betrayal she will feel when she finds out Grayson has known this entire time? And that simpleton Tyler knew too!" He scoffed, shaking his head.
"Please, even her mother knew. Her father as well. He had malicious intent. I do not. She could be valuable to this kingdom. She will be. Why else would her mother willingly let her come here at such a young age? She is on board." He rubbed his chin and stood up, dismissing me. I couldn't get another word in....his mind was set. The only thing left me for to do was warn Grayson. It was time to tell Elizabeth the truth on what she really is.
I left his office quickly, my mind racing. I didn't realize her mother knew... it made sense though. Elizabeth was never meant to live a normal life. She has magic in her blood, that's why so many beings are drawn to her. Transitioning to either a werewolf or vampire awakens that magic. We don't know what we will be dealing with...
I practically ran to my room, hoping jewel would be in there and able to tell me whereabouts the pair is. I hadn't seen them since the party ended last night.
"Jewel" I greeted her quickly and she looked up from her small desk in my room. She loved reading and I tried to accommodate her interests.
"Prince Xavier" she bowed her head to me and I held back my frown. Sometimes she went back to being formal around me in private, usually if we were around other people too long the habit came back.
"Do you know where Elizabeth or Grayson is?" I paced now and her eyebrows furrowed together, shaking her head slowly. Damn it. We'd have to find them.
"Is everything alright?" She stood up and walked to me slowly. Her quiet voice soothed me. I stopped pacing and looked at her. I wanted to reach out and touch her face. I wanted to stroke my thumb against her cheek like I had seen Grayson do so many times to Elizabeth.
I quickly shook these thoughts away and sighed, shaking my head slowly."We need to find them." I muttered before motioning for her to follow me. We split up and I ran as fast as I could to their room. Why did we have to put them so far back into this damn castle.
I knocked quickly on their door and Grayson answered, looking tired.
"It's early. What do you want?" He grumbled and I pushed past him into the room.
"Where is Elizabeth?" I panicked slightly.
"Eh? She's eating breakfast with jewel?" He sounded confused now.
Jewel came into the doorway, panting slightly. I left her in the dust with my vamp speed.
Grayson looked even more confused now.
"Well obviously she isn't with jewel!" I growled now, rubbing my hands together anxiously.
"What's going on?" His tone became serious.
"We have to stop her. Richard is transitioning her. I don't know when. But he's doing it." I spoke quickly and his eyes widened.
"No she said she.. we were going to talk about it more" it was his turn to panic.
"We have to find her. We have to stop them." We all left the room quickly, Graysons eyes changing color slightly as he reached out for her in their mind link.
"She's blocking me out" he muttered to himself and I lead them through the hallways.
"The infirmary. They must be there. That's the only place.." I reasoned with myself, hoping I was right.
I grabbed the handle and it wouldn't budge.
"Open up!" I yelled at the door. Whoever was in there locked it.
"She's in there" Grayson whispered, placing his hand against the door. His panic quickly turned to anger as he punched it. Jewel flinched in fear and I grabbed his arm.
"I'll find a key. My guess is my dad ordered them to open for no one. This door only leads to a waiting room. They won't hear us." I wasn't even certain Grayson heard me. His eyes were black. That meant his vampire instinct had kicked in.
Jewel stayed with Grayson, trying to keep him calm.
Which was probably an impossible task at this point.. I had to hurry.
GRAYSONS POV
My mind wouldn't stop racing. I couldn't take my eyes off of the door in front of me. I could feel her in there. I could feel her heartbeat...calm...too steady... they gave her something.
"She wouldn't.." jewels whisper trailed off and I gritted my teeth.
"Obviously she would." I grumbled, trying to force the doorknob open. I would break this stupid door if I had to. They have no idea what they're doing. She doesn't even know... she doesn't know what she's doing to herself!
I rubbed my eyes, trying to calm down.
"What if the transition doesn't work" I whispered to myself and jewel touched my shoulder. I flinched at the feeling. She wasn't my mate.
"Elizabeth is strong. It's in the writings.. either a vampire or werewolf. There's no way it won't work.. even if it doesn't what would that mean?" There was fear in her voice. I guess she didn't know how transitioning even worked.
"They have to kill her. Then inject her with vampire venom. It can come from a bite.." I trailed off, my jaw clenching. If any of these people even think of biting her. I stared at my knuckles on the door knob, trying to focus. They were turning white.
She wouldn't do this.
She wouldn't do something so big behind my back.
She said we would talk about it."I can't find a key" Xavier appeared next to us, panic on his face.
"Guess I'm ripping the door off it's hinges then" I growled at him and pulled, I froze.
My eyes widened and I suddenly felt dizzy.
"Grayson" Xavier grabbed my shoulders and I blinked furiously, my vision was blurry. My legs gave out and I dropped to my knees.
I swallowed hard before I could force myself to whisper shakily
"Her heart just stopped"
