GRAYSONS POV
"We can just have him kicked out" I suggested to Elizabeth as she paced, mumbling to herself on what to do. She was going back and forth on whether or not she wanted to talk to her poor excuse of a father.
I suggested I just go in there and kill him.
She declined that offer, saying he deserved to suffer for the rest of his life.
"I just have to get it over with." She spoke with a sense of finality, nodding to herself. If I was in her head right now, she'd be giving herself a pep talk I'm sure.
"You're sure?" I raised an eyebrow at her and she nodded, less confident this time. I could sense her fear. I actually had not sensed her so shaken up before.
This man who abused her and her mother and sister for so long, the one they ran from, showing up out of the blue once she transitions? Suspicious. It was all too convenient. Xavier said that he showed up, claiming Elizabeth's mother told him where she was. It could've been true, I don't know. I just wanted to be in his mind.
"You can't speak, okay? Just let me handle it, please." She spoke to me nervously and I laughed to myself. Of course she knew I had a few choice words for this asshole.
"No talking, got it. My lips are sealed." I motioned like I was locking my lips and handed her the imaginary key. She smiled at me, taking in a deep breath.
"Okay, let's do this" she whispered to herself shakily.
I gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, and pretended to sniff the air.
"Do you smell that?" I looked at her in fake confusion and her eyebrows furrowed together.
"Smells like somebody let a dog in" I whispered, smirking and she burst out laughing. She'd know what I meant in a second, haha.
She opened the door slowly, keeping her eyes on the floor I stared straight ahead. We walked into the room and I closed the door behind us. She kept her head down, my eyes met his.
She didn't look much like him. They had the same black hair, he shared his features with Erica.
"Lizzie!" His voice boomed through the room and she flinched. I held her hand tightly. She stopped a few feet inside the room.
He was a little taller than me, kinda buff. Most werewolves were. I couldn't take my eyes off of him, wondering how easy it would be to rip his head from his body.
He looked at me in a weird way, clapping his hands together once.
"Brought a body guard?" He laughed to himself and she tore her gaze from the ground, anger crossing her face when their eyes met.
"Look at you, stunning. Just like your mother, hope you don't take in her footsteps and reject your mate like she rejected me." He smiled at her with fake sincerity and a bitterness to his tone. Elizabeth had told me her mom rejected him before they ran away, she severed her ties to him in order to keep her kids safe.
"He's not a body guard he's my mate." She spoke through clenched teeth and he looked confused by her demeanor.
"Your mate?" He was obviously put off by this..me being a vampire and all. My guess is he also couldn't sense her transition. I stared at him hard, trying to get into his head. I kept hitting blocks, he probably knew coming here that someone would try getting in.
She nodded firmly, looking at me.
"Yes. My mate." She looked back to him, all that nervousness and fear was gone.
"Well pardon me, but what about that alpha?" He shot me a glare, how the hell would he have known about chase. Her mom was releasing way too much information...
