Chapter 35: Helping hand

i knocked at Roman's office. "come in" i walk in. "morning Mr.knight" he leaned back in his chair crossing his hand together over his stomach. "Good morning Miss carter" he said while smirking. i give him a weird look.    

"what is wrong with you?" i ask while walking towards his desk. he shrugs "nothing, you look beautiful" i sit on the chair across from him and throw my purse at the seat next to me.

"thanks?" he leans forward. "don't you have something to tell me?" i squint my eyes at him.

"what do you know?" i ask. he shrugs again "only that, i have your necklace" i gasp "oh my gosh you do?! where is it?"

he shakes his head "oh no Missy, you are gonna tell me why some guy gave it to me instead" i frown "what do you mean, what guy?"

Roman stood up while saying. "the guy said you gave it to him to fix the back piece and that you forgot to pick it up yesterday" um what?

"who told you this?" i asked while leaning back in my seat. Roman grabs his Bag from the couch. "this guy with ginger hair i don't know, but he left a note for you...i didn't open it it's your business but you could have let me know that you were getting it fixed" he said while handing me the necklace and the little purple post it which was folded.

i fake smile at him. "yeah sorry, must have slipped my mind" i grab the necklace and note. "can you please" i say while gesturing to the necklace. he nods and i stand up so he can put the necklace on.

"so, is this guy a potential boyfriend?" he asks while clipping the necklace on my neck. i scoff "no Roman, he's just this guy i know"

i hear him sigh. "done" i turn around to face him. "you look nice" i say while putting my hands around the back of his neck. he smirk's and his arm snakes around my waist pulling me closer.

"so do you" i smile as he leans his face closer to mine. i tip toe so i can meet his lips. "we got a lot of work to do today" he says while rubbing his hand on my back.

i nod "yeah i know i'm the assistant i made the schedule" he chuckles and kisses me again. "your lips are delicious" he whispers. i bite my bottom lip and arch my neck more up so i can kiss him.

after a few minutes of us kissing i finally pull away. "is Teresa coming today?" i ask.

he nods "yeah she's pretty shaken up, yesterday her car got broken into. they took her phone" i pretend to be shocked. "oh my gosh is she okay?"

he nods "yeah but she has her body guards follow her everywhere now" i nod "yeah she should" he pecs my lips then goes back to his seat. "here, these documents need to be faxed and my coffee needs to be made" he says sitting down.

i chuckle" i'm sorry, i forgot to make it i will get to it right now" he nods "you better" i smile at him and leave his office.

Walking into mine I sit at my desk chair inspecting the purple note. Opening it I read it. 'I know you have a lot of questions, I have some answers'

Under that was a address. "What is this?" I ask myself. Grabbing my phone I open Google maps and put the address in.

It will take me by car 15 minutes from the company to this place. Sighing I put the note in my purse and grab the papers that Roman needs me to fax.

I stand up and leave my office closing the door behind me. I knock on Roman's door. "Come in" I open the door. "Sorry to bother you, before I go fax these papers, is there anything else you need me to do?" I ask.

He shakes his head "no that's pretty much it" I nod once. I'm about to close the door when Teresa pushes me aside. "Excuse me" she says and walks in.

"Oh roman I was so scared I wish you would have been there with me, you could have saved my phone" she says while throwing her arms around him.

I roll my eyes and close the door. Some how I need to get her phone back in her purse. But I need to fax these papers first.

Walking back to my office after faxing the papers. I quickly get the phone from my bag. Sticking it in my skirt pocket. I go to the elevator to get Roman's coffee.

Some how I need to distract both Roman and Teresa in order for me to stick the phone back in her purse. How the hell am I going to do that!?

The elevator arrives. On a mission I press the 1st floor. I could ask belle for help but she needs to stay in the lobby...she can probably help me on her break but that's not till 12 and its only 8 right now.

Sighing I lean on the back corner of the elevator. "What am I gonna do?" As if on cue the elevator stops and the doors open. Ray walks in.

Smiling at him. He gives me a weird look. "What? Do I have something on my face?" He asks. The elevator door closes and I pull Ray to me. "You're gonna help me."

He gives me a confused look. "I'm scared"

"Okay so I know how I could distract Roman but how am I gonna distract Teresa?" Ray asks while i pour Roman's coffee. I smirk at him.

"I know you will think of something with that beautiful brain of yours" I tell him while slapping his cheek playfully. He sighs and shakes his head.

"What gave you girls the idea that this would work? It's a stupid plan" he says. I nod "I agree with you, but it worked, mark is agreeing to talk to Teresa to call it off"

He shakes his head "and how do you know it will work? What if mark can't pull it off? What if all this goes to dust?!"he yelled. I give him a weird look and pat his shoulder. "Relax Ray, you're like Belle"

He sighs and walks with me to the elevator. "I don't even know why I'm agreeing to help you with this" ray mumbles. I chuckle and bump him with my hip.

"Because it's a fun little project and I asked you nicely to help me" he rolled his eyes. "And also it is to help your little brother" 

Ray rolls his eyes again "yeah yeah" I smile at him and we walk inside the elevator.
