Chapter 51: reunited

"This is all wrong!" Teresa yells while shaking her head at the invitations I made for her wedding. I roll my eyes.

"Roman said you wanted it light blue" I said annoyed. She huffs "are you kidding? Roman doesn't know what he's talking about!" She throws the invitation on the floor and sits on the couch. Her head in hands.

I give her a confused look. What's wrong with her? I slowly walk towards her. Sitting down next to her I put my hands on my lap. "Teresa, I know we don't really see eye to eye....but what's wrong?"

She sniffs and takes her hair out from her face and looks at me. "This entire wedding is stressing me out, my boyfri- I mean my friend doesn't want to be friend any more unless I call this entire wedding off"

Ah, shes talking about mark. "And I want to call it off but if daddy finds out the reason why I want to call it off he will kill my friend and me" I sigh and reach my hand to touch her shoulder but quickly put it down again.

"Um, why do you think he will kill your friend and you?" She sighs and looks away from me. "Because my friend works for him, if my dad finds out I had a....friendship with this guy he will fire him and chase him down cause I'm his little girl"

I pucker my lips. "You are a grown women, you shouldn't be scared of your fathers approve for who you're.....friends with" she sighs and stands up.

"Fix the invitations, I want them pink and Gold, I want our names to pop" she leaves my office. I shake my head "so much for being nice" my phone starts to ring.

I walk back to my desk to grab it. Josh was calling me. "Hey josh" I say while smiling. "Hey rach, what are you making for dinner later?"

I sigh. I forgot to tell him about papi. I wipe my face and sit down on my chair. I took a deep breath "Josh, I'm not going to cook anything because we have dinner plans"

"Oh great, where's the place?" I sigh again "it's with papi" there was silence on the other line. I looked at my phone to make sure he didn't hang up.

"Josh?" "You got in contact with him!" I put the phone away from my ear while he yelled. "Who said you can talk to him without me present! I told you I didn't want you alone with that man!"

"I know Josh, but he was outside the company and he's really changed....he's bald" Josh sucks his teeth. "Rachel....he's really bald?" I chuckle "yeah, it's like a knee cap and it's really shiny"

He chuckles and shuts up "fine we can have dinner with him, only Cause I wanna see his bald head" I laugh "I have the address so I'll pick you up from work" he sighs "fine whatever"

I roll my eyes "bye love you" "yeah yeah I love you too" I chuckle and hang up. I lean my head on my hands. "I want it pink and Gold, our names have to pop" I mimic Teresa.

"Ugh" I turn my laptop back on and got to work on those invitations.

"Are you sure he's gonna be here?" Josh asks. I sigh and pull into a parking spot. "I think so" I turn off my car. Facing my brother.

"Are you ready?" I ask. He sighs "if you're ready I'm ready" I get out the car. Josh follows.

Opening the restaurant door, we were at Unos. I go towards the lady in the front. "Hi, I believe we have a table waiting for us? Henry carter?"

She looks at the paper in front of her and smiles. "Yes miss, right this way" we follow her. She takes us all the way to the back. I see papi's big figure sitting down at the booth.

"Thank you" I say to the lady and me and Josh walk to the table by ourselves.

"Papi" I say. He immediately looks up smiling brightly. "Rachel" he stands up and hugs me. Pulling away from me he makes eye contact with Josh.

"So it is true, you are bald" Josh says. I nudge his arm and smile at pa. He clears his throat "son, it's good to see you" Josh rolls his eyes "what ever" he sits in the booth across from papis.

I sit down next to Josh. Pa sits down as well across from us. "I understand I have to gain your trust again Josh, and I promise I will try my very hardest to earn it."

Josh sighs "I'm sure you will" he opens the menu. "So Rachel, you're working at knights company? Hows that going for you?" Pa asks while smiling.

I clear my throat, just as I was about to answer Josh cuts me off. "Cut the crap Henry, I know you already know everything about us when you had the P.I following us,

What we wanna know is what's going on with you? You're sober now? No more drugs? Can't afford them?" I open my mouth to shut Josh up but close it immediately. I too want to know the answer.

Pa sighs and nods. "I will tell you guys everything" the waitress comes by our table. "Hi I'm Lyla, I will be your server can I start you guys with drinks?"

"Waters just fine" pa says. She nods "okay" "I'm ready to order food, can I get the bacon cheeseburger" Josh says.

Linda nods and looks at me. "Can I get the regular cheeseburger.....well done the both of them" she nods again and looks at pa.

"I would like the bacon cheeseburger as well please" she nods and leaves. Josh crosses his hands together and puts them on the table.

"Well Henry...we're waiting" pa clears his throat. "It happened 2 years after I left you guys, I was living in a crack house.
