Chapter 28: Jack Daniels

I grab my glass of wine, taking a big gulp while listening to William's boring fake speech. "About a few months ago, Roman came and told me he wanted to marry the love of his life" I rolled my eyes and poured myself some more wine.

"Roman is the youngest in the family but I have to say he's the most successful" "hey!" ray called out. Which made the audience laugh.

William laughed as well "sorry son, it's true. I always thought that Roman was never gonna get married, to be honest I thought he was gonna end up being a loner" the audience laughed and I fake laughed. Belle gave me a side glance.

There was a tap on my shoulder while William continued speaking. It was one of the waiters "sorry to bother you miss Carter but one of the chefs burned the chicken and we don't know what to do"

I sigh in annoyance and grabbed my glass with wine in it and walked with him to the kitchen, I saw Roman look at me. Ignoring him I open the kitchen door.

The chefs were panicking. I glared at them. There's 3 chefs. I sigh "what happened " one of the chefs spoke up first " I accidentally burned the chicken and we don't have another one to cook" she said panicking.

I scratch my forehead and looked at her with a bored look. "Jessica was it?" I ask. She nods "look Jessica, we can improvise we still have time before Mr.Knight finishes his speech so you, with the blond hair " I said while pointing to the guy who brought me here.

I handed him 40 bucks "get a chicken, there's a restaurant down the block go there and ask for 3 fat cooked chickens and tell them to hurry up Mr. William knight send you"

he quickly nodded and ran out. "Okay chefs, is the chicken the only problem?" they all nodded I nod back. "Good then someone hand me Jack Daniel"

Jessica quickly grabbed the Jack Daniel bottle and handed it to me. "Thanks now, continue working and call me if you need anything else" I said and left the kitchen while hiding the Jack Daniels bottle with my purse.

I quickly sat down belle eyeing me Suspiciously. Smiling at her I opened the bottle and poured it in a new glass since the other one had wine in it. Belle gasped. "Where did you get that?" I shrugged "her name was Jessica and she burned the chicken"

I took a big gulp of the drink than poured myself some more. Belle took a look around to make sure everyone was paying attention to William and grabbed the bottle pouring herself a glass. I giggle at her. She told me to shush.

A few glasses later. William had finished with his speech and now it was John's turn. I was drunk, I had more to drink than belle. I even ended up mixing my glass that had jack Daniels in it with the wine glass by accident. so I was really out of it.

"My beautiful daughter Teresa, I couldn't wait for this day" John said while smiling at Teresa. I rolled my eyes and tapped belle's arm who was tipsy but not drunk like I was.

"I'm bored can we leave?" I hiccup. She shook her head "no you can't, you're Roman's assistant you have to stay here" I rolled my eyes at her. "Whatever, he's in love with me not Teresa....hey James do you know this is fake?" 

Belle gasped. "What do you mean?" James asked confused. I nodded while belle tried to shut me up. "It's all a set up so William knight could become rich, it's not gonna work though because Roman is gonna be unfaithful to his lovely wife"

James looked at belle for conformation but she shook her head. "She's lying, she's just really drunk and wants Roman to herself "

I took another sip of my drink but this time it was from the bottle itself. "Rachel!" Belle whisper yelled. I stood up "I wanna make a speech!" I yelled interrupting john. 

All the attention was on me now. John cleared his throat "um, sure why not you did plan everything " I nodded agreeing with him.

"That's right pervert John I did" I said while walking around my table to the stage. Belle tried to grab my hand "no no no no" she kept repeating. 

I ignored her and got on stage almost falling. "What is she doing?" Teresa said to Roman. Roman shrugged and kept his eyes on me. Ray looked at me with amusement and I send him a wink. Grabbing the Mic from John's hand I began my lovely speech.

"Hi rich people, my name is Rachel Carter I am Roman knight's assistant. I just wanna say how happy I am for the lovely couple here" "get her off the stage" I heard Roman hiss to Ray. "When I first worked here I had a massive crush on Roman, he is so pretty. Am I right ladies" they all screamed yeah.

"Yeah! But then! I met ray and I was like Damn!" The audience laughed. "You guys want to know what's funny about this whole thing? I planned everything! To the chair you're sitting on all the way to the kind of toilet paper you wipe your ass with and not one of them did anything. You know that's kinda sketchy right?

I mean if it's your engagement party you would want to set it up how you want to, not what your fiance's assistant wants to" I point to Teresa so all eyes were on her "why is that Teresa? Is it because this thing is fake?" people gasped and started to mumble things.

Roman glared at me. I then laughed "no I know the reason, it's because you don't know how to decorate! you're a terrible decorator!" The audience laughed and I winked at Roman.

"Be careful Mr.knight since your wife doesn't know how to decorate you're gonna have to call me, and make sure you don't fall in love with me while I'm painting your walls and putting up pictures."

The audience laughed obviously taking it as a joke but I was dead serious. Ray then came up on stage taking the mic from me. I gasped. "Hey i wasn't finish they want to hear more, don't you guys!?" 

The audience screamed. "I mean come on this place is boring! You're all just sitting here listening to father's talk and then a beautiful lady comes on stage and everything starts getting interesting right? "

They all nodded. I looked at ray up and down. "I mean look at this hot piece" I said while circling ray. "I mean damn he's so fine. the knights are all so fine, have you seen their father?!

Ellis you are one lucky lady!" I yelled. Ellis laughed and held William's hand. William looked mad but when I said that, he cracked a smile and kissed Ellis's cheek.

"All these beautiful people and the one I want is getting married so I guess I have to take his brother instead" I grab Ray's face and french kissed him, the audience cheered. I pulled away and winked at Roman. "Now let's party!" I said and got off the stage.

Ray followed and belle quickly grabbed my hand "I can't believe you just did that!" She yelled at me. I shrugged "ray didn't mind" ray smirked.

Belle shook her head and pulled me to the table. "Not that stupid, the entire speech! Are you crazy do you know what could have happened if you kept going on about the fake engagement?!"

The music started to blast and everyone was dancing now. I grabbed my bottle and drank some more, finishing the entire bottle. "Let's dance loca! you're so tense!" I say and grab belle to the dance floor. She sighed "you are so crazy!"
