October 12, 2015 - 11:30 a.m.

I was already coming up with a plan to sneak out as I raced up the stairs to my bedroom. I opened my closet and got my Goosebumps T-shirt - my favorite shirt - and a pair of faded jeans. I put them on quickly and grabbed my backpack. I plopped it onto my bed next to some of my Goosebumps books that I was reading last night. I then unzipped the bag and started putting some of my personal things in there. I took my camera, phone, Kindle, 3Ds, and other items and placed them each neatly inside the backpack.

Hold on. I am missing something. Something important.

Oh, yeah, my Goosebumps books!

I grabbed my Goosebumps books - one of them being 'Night of the Living Dummy' - that were lying on my bed and shoved them into my backpack. Then I zipped up the bag, untangled the straps, and put it on my shoulders.

"Boy, this is heavy. What did I put in here?"

It was time to put my plan into action. I looked down from my window.

"No. No way."

There was no way that I was jumping out the window! I could get seriously hurt!

Wait a minute. Did I sound just like Cassandra?

Quietly, I went back down the stairs...

Whoops! I almost forgot my Goosebumps cap! Let us try that again.

Quietly, I went back down the stairs and hurried to the front door. I stared at the door, listening intently for my caretaker.

Was that Cassandra's voice? Yes.

Shawn had arrived ten minutes ago and was talking to Cassandra in the kitchen. Cassandra always got distracted by Shawn. Seriously. She tunes everything out as if it were just her and her boyfriend. Even me.

"Jee, this is a good time to escape from the asylum," I whispered to myself as I swung the door wide open and ran out of the house.

Freedom!

"Now to find Zach and Hannah." I looked both ways. Hannah said that they were going to the park.

Hold on for a second - where exactly is the park? Left or right?

I was so focused on getting out of the house and hopefully befriending Zach and Hannah, I had completely forgotten that I was not familiar with Madison yet.

No. If you are thinking that I should go back home, you have another thing coming to you. Besides, I did not know where my house was.

In other words, I was lost. Hopelessly lost.

I decided to walk around and explore Madison for a little bit while I had the chance - before Cassandra found me and killed me.

However, before I could move a muscle, I noticed somone running towards me. I squinted to get a better look at the person that was coming straight at me. This person had brown hair and was wearing a gray suit with a red bowtie and a red boutonniere.

Why did he look so familiar?
