The Meeting

I grunted as I struggled to break free.

"Let me go, you monster!"

It was no use though. The snowman held me tightly and would not put me down.

I looked down and gulped. I was aways from the ground, about two to three feet. One false move, and I would be falling to my doom.

I glanced up at the snowman. It was not giving me the time of day. It was running on the streets, its bare feet kicking up dirt from the roads. Every time that the creature slammed a foot to the hard ground, everything around it would shake.

The houses.

The trees.

Vehicles that were parked on the side of the road.

I looked around, trying to spot any humans who could help me. Unfortunately, nobody, and I mean nobody, was outside.

People! It is daylight! It is after nine o'clock, and you all are still sleeping in?! Do you not have work to go to or feel the shaking coming from the monster?!

"Shivers!" I called. "Hannah! Zach! Champ! Taylor! Cassandra!" I covered my mouth as soon as I said my caretaker's name.

Did I actually say her name? Did I really want her help?

I glanced at the group of monsters.

Nah. I will stick with the monsters. At least they have not made my life a living heck.

Minutes passed, and I found myself yawning, and my eyelids were getting heavy.

Why was I getting tired all of a sudden? The day had just begun.

I yawned again and rested my head on the hairy hand. It was so soft. So warm.

I could feel the muscles in every part of my body ache. I groaned as I stretched my arms. I guess that I was tired.

Maybe I did not get any sleep last night.

Having only one eye open, I noticed the black car behind the snowman and following the monsters. The car was not driving fast. It was driving slowly.

Very slowly.

I would have been scared, but I was too tired.

The snowman soon came to a halt. I turned my head and spotted the police station.

The police station was not a big building. Neither was its location for parking police cars. The cars were in the parking spaces. Only a couple spaces did not have cars.

The lights from inside the station flickered on and off as if the place were haunted.

The black car pulled up to the station and parked in front of the entrance. The lights from the headlights died down, and a door opened. My eyes widened as I noticed a short figure stepping out of the car. It slammed the door and hurried to the entrance.

"Bring her to me," a voice commanded. It sounded like the male voice from earlier.

The snowman walked to the entrance and lowered his hand, the one that he had me in. He opened his hand, and I fell out and landed head first on the ground.

"Ow!" I exclaimed. I sat up and gently rubbed my head. I was definitely going to have a headache for a bit.

"Welcome, my dear. So nice that you could join the party."

I gasped and turned to where the voice came from.

And saw the figure standing next to me.

I got a good look at him. He was short, shorter than me, and had brown hair. He was wearing a gray suit with a red bow-tie and a red boutonniere. He also had on brown shoes.

His brown, glassy eyes stared into my eyes, and I hugged myself and shook. He had a creepy grin spread across his face.

"Hello, precious," he said. "The name is Slappy, and I am going to make you an offer that you cannot refuse."
