"The...the Invisible Boy?" I struggled to get free from the grip. "I-I cannot see you."
I heard a low growl. "Did you not hear me? I am the Invisible Boy."
"...so?"
"You cannot see me because I am invisible!"
"...oh. I get it now. Sorry." I felt myself being swung back. "Ah!" I screamed as I fell to the floor, and the back of my head hit the sink. I sat up and rubbed the spot where it was hurting, groaning in pain. The boy who I could not see laughed.
"Did...did you do that? Did you push me?" I questioned him.
He laughed for a few more seconds, and then stopped. "Of course!" he answered. He snickered. "Who else would do it? We are the only people in here."
I got to my feet and brushed the dust off the pants. I frowned at him. "That was not very nice. Pushing a girl. You should know better."
"You know what? I should. Then again, I was not created to have manners! I was created to cause chaos and mischief!"
I rolled my eyes. This guy was as annoying as Slappy! Possibly worse. And I had to deal with both of them.
Oh, joy!
In case that you did not catch that, that was sarcasm, my friend.
"What do you want?" I said to the boy. "And it had better not be me. Some dummy is trying to force me to be his bride."
"You mean Slappy," the Invisible Boy pointed out. "Ah. Slappy. One of my many, many brothers."
I raised an eyebrow. "Brothers?"
"Yes. All of the monsters that you saw or 'met' earlier. We are siblings. We were thought of and created by Stine."
I crossed my arms. "I knew that you were going to say that."
"And Slappy really wants you. He cannot stop talking about you." He sighed. "Frantically, his brothers and sisters, including me, are getting sick of hearing how great you are. Blah, blah, blah. If you are supposed to be great, then you would have gone with him by now."
"Actually, I am heading outside to see him."
"Really? Well, this is surprising."
I lowered my arms and rubbed one of them. "I do not have a choice. He took my baby sister and is keeping her in his wooden hands until I agree to be his." I shook my head in shame. "Stupid dummy."
Anger was boiling inside of me. I was extremely mad at Slappy for kidnapping Tamara. The idea made me despise him even more. I wanted to grab him and, wrapping my hands and fingers around his wooden neck, choke him.
Hey, he may not have lungs, but he needed to pay in some way for alleged kidnapping and baby torture.
"Your baby sister?" the boy said. "By chance, is she a baby or a toddler?"
"A baby," I replied. "The cutest baby who you could ever lay eyes on."
"Okay. Because there is a baby outside."
My eyes widened in surprise. "Where is she?"
"Near the football field. You cannot miss it."
"Thank you so much for the info."
"Yeah, Slappy and the gnomes are out there with her."
"What? Gnomes?"
"Yep. Slappy told the gnomes to do whatever it takes to make her scared and cry."
I gasped. "Tamara!" I started hurrying out of the bathroom, when the Invisible Boy stopped me. I felt a grip on my arm.
"Are you not forgetting something?" The manuscript floated towards me.
"Oh my gosh. Yes. Thank you for reminding me." I reached for the manuscript, and I felt myself being shoved against the wall. And then I felt lips pressing themselves against my lips. "Mmm!"
The kiss quickly ended as soon as it began. I was shoved one more time before falling to the floor. I coughed and watched as the manuscript disappeared around the corner.
