Sorry this is so late, i've been busy but hope you enjoy! vote please! - Blaire

I woke up at 6:15 and got dressed. I had a protein bar and some yogurt before heading to the stadium. I walked through the gate as Barron came from the gear room.

Barron: wow the first time I have seen you this in person this summer
Me: yeah I know
Barron: well tell the girls to hurry out please.
Me: yes sir

I walked in and put on my cleats. I felt awkward because all of the incoming freshman players were staring at me.

Me: uh well Barron said hurry out so let's go.

We all went out and warmed up. Megan and I did our touches and then Barron called us all over. We did a couple passing drills and then did shooting drills. When we finished those we went up to the weight room.

Barron: I'm sure Caroline did not miss your driving
Me: hey! I am a good driver I just go a little faster than recommended.
Barron: a little?
Me: oh whatever.

We went into the weight room and did the workout Barron set out. We finished and I headed home. I went to my room and checked emails. There weren't any important ones and then I saw the link Hope sent me.

National Phenomenon, 17- year oldSavannah Solo

17-year-old Savannah Solo, better known as Baby Horse, has not stepped but leaped into the spotlight of the US Women's National Soccer Team. Solo scored 3 goals in her national debut on December 22nd against Costa Rica.

With a 4.0 grade point average back home in Louisiana, Baby Horse was in a different position after the U.S. finished group stage at the Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Cup in February. The U.S was heading to Houston for their semifinal match on Friday, but Baby Horse had to add in when to hit the books.
That's the difference when you're a 17-year old high school junior playing for the U.S National Team. Baby Horse had to lug a bag of books to Texas for the tournament. "its heavy", said Solo.

The youngest American for the USWNT in Olympic Qualifying Baby Horse was a starter on Monday night. It was the Louisiana teenager who made a dynamic run down the left flank taking the ball to the top of the 18-yard box. Solo played a square ball to Alex Morgan who immediately put the ball in the right corner of the net scoring just six minutes in.

"As the game went on I got more relaxed. When you make a mistake my teammates just tell me to keep going, so there's a lot of positivity and that helps. The nerves I think have kind of settled now and I'm ready to keep moving" said Solo.

Then again Baby Horse is a very rare player, she moves and motors so fast. So naturally it's hard to understand how she moves from point A to point B. Solo's talent is undeniable and her ability to fit in with these highly competitive and older players shows that despite her age she belongs.

"She's just very gifted on the ball. Her understanding of space, playing off her teammate, and also being able to solve things individually. I'm not saying she's complete, I think she has a long way to go, but for a young player and in terms of her starting point is very good" Jill Ellis said.

Baby Horse meanwhile is having tons of fun and it shows. She said her teammates joke about how young she is (where she got the nickname Baby Horse), and tease her about having to do homework but the atmosphere and personalities are like nothing else in the world.

"it's so much fun, on and off the field" Solo said. "Off the field just building relationships and chemistry with everyone, that translates onto the field. I don't think without those relationships we would be able to do what we do. But yeah school work is something they don't have to deal with so we all joke about it. I had to bring a whole other bag filled with school work".

I finished the article and ate lunch. The rest of the day went by quickly and I went to bed.
