I woke up at 6:30 and woke up Hope. I put on one of Hope's shirts and went to breakfast.
Kelley: guys we get our Olympic boxes today!
Alex: finally! I mean there really isn't another day we could get them
Once we all finished eating Jill came in.
Jill: alright ladies I'm sure you know by now that you get your gear today. We will go by last name since that's how they are organized. So Moe and Dunn you two up first.
Dawn: Engen, ... Heath, ...Lloyd, ...O'Hara, Rapinoe, Solos, and finally Sonnet.
We got our boxes and went up to our room. Hope and I both opened our but I tried all of mine on.
Me: hey Hope I think I got your pants because I don't wear a medium.
Hope: and I don't wear an extra small.
We switched and then finished packing everything into our suitcases. We had a couple hours until lunch. I just climbed into bed and read my book. Hope and I changed and then headed down to eat. I got my plate and sat down with the girls. They talked and I just listened. Once everyone was finished we loaded the bus. At the field we put on our cleats and warmed up. We did drills and then scrimmaged 8v8.
Jill: alright ladies, great training today. We have one last gym session in the morning and then we are off to Brazil!
Me: hey Toboggan soccer tennis at the hotel?
Toby: you're on
We got back to the hotel and Tobin and I played soccer tennis until dinner.
Tobin: are you ready for your last year of high school?
Me: yeah I'm missing like at least the first two weeks though
Tobin: at least they're excused
Me: yeah, how are the thorns doing?
Tobin: well since all of the team are missing players, we are still doing pretty good.
We talked and played until 7 and then headed in. We got our plates and sat down. As I did Hope turned to me.
Hope: have you talked to anyone back home?
Me: no why?
Hope: because your phone goes off like every 10 minutes
Me: yeah I know, well I am going to shower.
*Hope: Tobin did she talk to you?
Tobin: about school and soccer yeah
Hope: anything about her dad
Tobin: no why?
Hope: well from him I found out that Savannah had to sign a form to allow them to operate on her mom. That was the surgery that she died on the table. When the doctor came out to tell Savannah, General Reed came in at the same time. Savannah said it was her fault for signing and when her dad tried calming her down, she blew up and said some pretty mean things.
Kelley: is that who is texting her?
Hope: yes and her sister, Brad, Megan, and her high school coach.
Ash: if anyone is going to get her to talk it's probably going to be you Hope
Alex: yeah
Ali: you said she slept with you last night right?
Hope: yeah
Tobin: try talking to her when she starts to get tired.
*Hope: alright I'll try.
I got out of the shower and got dressed. I got my computer and read a couple messages but didn't reply. All of them were just checking in on me. I shut it down as Hope came in. She got ready for bed and then climbed in hers to read. I read but eventually finished my book. Hope was still reading so I climbed in next to her like the night before. Hope put her book down and shut off the lamp.
Hope: did you reply back to any of them?
Me: no I haven't
Hope: do you want to?
Me: yes and no, I don't really know what to say.
Hope: do you want to talk about it?
Me: how much do you already know?
Hope: I know an angle of it but I want to see how you see it.
Me: well I'm not ready yet but eventually I will
Hope: and that's okay, I'll be here when you are
I fell asleep shortly after and Hope wasn't far behind me.
