I woke up at 9 and Hope was still asleep. I didn't have a headache but I was dehydrated. I let Hope sleep and went to eat. Carli, Broon, and Whit were the only ones there.
Carli: How you feeling Baby Horse?
Me: great, I need some water though
Broon: really?
Me: yeah
I went and fixed my plate with 3 pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, fruit, and a glass of chocolate milk. I sat down and ate my food while Carli and Broon talked. Around 11 a group of girls came down including Hope.
Hope: you've already eaten?
Me: yup, can we got to the basketball final today?
Hope: let me at least drink my coffee before you start asking to go places
Me: ugh fine, I'm going to find my longboard.
I eventually found it and went to ride around the village. Hope called me and said Dawn needed us so I headed back.
Dawn: Solos sit down please. I got the results back and there was a spike in your metabolism. Since we aren't training we are keeping your diet the same and hopefully it will let you gain back some weight
Hope: this doesn't mean you can eat junk food
Me: I didn't say I was going to
Dawn: well here is your drink for the day
Me: thank you
Hope and I walked out and went to the room. I put on my white shorts and my USA t-shirt. Hope, Alex, Allie, Kelley, Ash, Ali, and I went to the basketball game. USA beat Spain 102 to 71. The girls got their medals and then got to meet the girls and we all took pictures together. Elena Delle Donne then came up to me.
Elena: I saw your dog Duke on Instagram, he is so cute
Me: thank you, I follow Wrigley's
Duke: well since Duke and Wrigley are friends online here's a jersey for him
Me: awe thank you so much. I'm going to wear it first, but I will make sure he gets it.
We went back to the Village and had dinner. I got my second drink and then we had movie night.
Alex: Baby Horse guess what?
Me: yes?
Alex: you're in the running to carry the flag at the closing ceremony
Me: against who?
Allie: Simone Biles, Phelps, Ledecky, or you
Me: well I hope Simone has fun
Kelley: hey right now you are in 2nd and gaining quickly.
Hope: when does voting end?
Ash: at 11 tomorrow
We talked a little bit longer and then went to bed.
Hope: so what did your dad say?
Me: well he went back to Afghanistan last night
Hope: how long was he here?
Me: just for the game, he wanted to see us get our medals
Hope: well I'm glad he did
Me: yeah me too
Hope: he told me about your nickname?
Me: Medusa?
Hope: yeah. Do you know when you're like that?
Me: yes and no, while I am no but like right before and after yes most of the time I can tell.
Hope: Well what are you know? Do you know?
Me: honestly I can tell I'm right before and that scares me
Hope: well we don't have to worry about it until then.
Me: I know, thank you
Hope: of course
