Hope and I woke up at 6:30 and put on our gear. We went to the dining hall and I went to make my plate but was pulled back by my shorts.
Me: hey!
Hope: uh uh nope, Dawn already has a plate for you
Me: dang it!
I walked over to Dawn and grabbed my plate.
Dawn: I will let you pick your lunch but I have to approve it
Me: it was the cake, wasn't it?
Dawn: and the two grilled cheeses
Me: yeah I figured.
I took my plate to the table and sat down. We ate and talked before heading to the gym. We had a group workout since there were other teams in the gym. We finished around 11 and I went to find Alex.
Me: Al do you want to go watch Simone on Vault and Maddie and Gabby on bars?
Alex: Yes! What time do they start?
Me: 12
Alex: well I'll go ask Dawn if we can get lunch to go
Me: and I'll go ask Hope
I went up to the room and found Hope.
Me: hey can I go with Al to watch Simone, Gabby, and Maddie?
Hope: if Dawn okays it
Me: Alex went to ask, do you want to go?
Hope: I have a couple things to do so I can't
Me: oh okay, well Alex texted and Dawn said we could
Hope: alright have fun
I changed into my Nike team pants and our navy-blue jacket like Alex said. We met in the lobby and then went to the dining hall to pack a lunch. We got to the gymnastics arena and got our seats. Simone was warming up her vaults. At 12:30 Simone was up. She saluted the judge and then went. Simone stuck her landing putting her in first. A couple more people went but the spots stayed the same and Simone took the Gold.
After the Vault ceremony the bar warmups started. Alex and I ate our lunch and then the routines started. After a couple routines someone sat next to me.
Simone: hey I'm glad you could make it!
Me: hey! Oh my god, congratulations
Alex: you were amazing!
Simone: thank you, and I know we know each other's names but it great to meet the other twin. You two look so much alike
Alex: we do and it's great to meet you too.
Simone: Aly just texted me and said she and Laurie are walking in.
Aly and Laurie sat down just as Gabby started. Gabby did good but her score was low. Maddie was the last one to go and she was memorizing. Maddie's score put her in second making her the only one on the podium for the US.
Aly: hey do you two want to come back with us and take pictures, and Alex can meet Maddie and Gabby.
Me: yeah sure
Alex: yeah
The five of us went to the VIP access and met Maddie and Gabby. We took pictures with them and talked for a while. At 4 Alex and I had to go back to our tower. I went up and told Hope everything. I changed back into my gear and then went to dinner. I was able to choose and I had salad, chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, and rice. After we ate we had training.
We worked on set pieces and corners. We finished and Dawn handed out drinks. I drank mine while Beck wrapped ice on my ankle. We loaded the bus and went back to the village. Hope and I showered and then got ready for bed. I changed and then climbed in.
Hope: you and Alex have fun?
Me: yeah it was so cool to see Simone and Maddie medal in person.
Hope: it's pretty cool
Me: it is and I had a good day, it didn't even hit once
Hope: that is a good day, I'm glad. Have you talked to your dad yet?
Me: no I haven't
Hope: I'm here if you need
Me: I know, goodnight Hopey
Hope: good night Baby Horse
