I'm Sorry For The Confusion

Source Of Idea: Conversation with friends about what would happen if you kissed a gem on their gem

I started this after All The Homo so the beginning of this is really old haha

The part where I continued is somewhere around the part where Peridot is shrieking. You'll see.

      "Hey Lazuli!" Lapis turned around to face Peridot. "Do you wanna go out and explore some of this planet and it's lifeforms?"
     "Why?" It was like Lapis didn't want to go explore some of the world with Peridot; it was more that she was curious why the small green gem wanted to explore Earth.
     "Well, I was looking at sights on this planet, and I realized how beautiful Earth was!" Peridot exclaimed, sitting down next to Lapis on the water silo. "I mean, yes, I knew that Earth was beautiful, but I didn't know the full extent! Just look at these places!" Peridot floated the small tablet over to Lapis, showing her the places. "I mean, just look at this "Grand Can-yo-n" or this "Ni-a-gra Falls!"

     After the two gems had spent some time looking at the sights of Earth on Peridot's tablet, Lapis listening with a blank face and Peridot explaining, they decided to explore the sights of the planet. Lapis held out a hand to Peridot.
     "Lapis? Why are you-"
     "Take my hand." Peridot hesitantly took Lapis's hand, only to be pulled toward the blue gem. She unconsciously grabbed onto her back, looking up only to see Lapis's water wings about to flap down, Peridot realizing much too soon was Lapis was doing. Soon the two were in air, Peridot clutching onto Lapis's back.

     When a minute had passed, Peridot slightly calmed down and layed down on Lapis's back, avoiding her gem. The two sat in a comfortable silence, before Peridot gasped.
     "Lazuli!" Peridot yelled, pushing her torso up with her arms. "Look!" Lapis looked up to see a bright sunset, a blend of red, orange, and yellow.

     Lapis suddenly stopped flying, throwing Peridot up in the air. Peridot had a moment of shrieking before she was caught in a pair of blue arms. The smaller gem stared at Lapis with a blank face before bursting into giggles. The taller gem joined in, hugging Peridot so that she wouldn't be dropped. When the gems calmed down again, they calmly gazed at the idyllic setting sun.

     When the two once-Homeworld gems came back to the barn, Peridot was lethargically laying on Lapis's back, her eyelids becoming heavy. Lapis gently lifted Peridot up, and laid her down on a pile of clean clothes in the barn. She made sure Pumpkin was sleeping so he couldn't disturb the tranquility that had formed around the small barn.
     "Hope you sleep well," Lapis whispered to Peridot as she kissed her gem, walking away.

     Once Lapis had left the barn, Peridot jumped straight up. Immediately she blushed a dark green, and she held a hand over her gem. Had Lapis tried to fuse with her? But why when she was falling asleep? Was it because she thought the great Peridot couldn't dance? Peridot tested this idea by jumping with paint cans around the barn.

     The last was correct, after all.

     Lapis heard banging in the barn, giving her a sense of panic. Was Peridot okay? She flew down from the barn roof, only to find Peridot staring at her like a deer in the headlights. The paint cans were out, and Peridot seemed to be pretending to have been dancing with her alien plush that lost it's bow tie.
"Peri, what are you doing?"
     "U-uh, Lazuli! I'm just uh-" Peridot tripped as she walked over to Lapis. Lapis gave a chuckle.

"H-hey! Don't laugh!" Peridot composed herself, standing up straight on her paint cans, making her eye to eye with Lapis. "I'll have you know I was practicing!"
"For what? Nothing's gonna happen soon, as far as I know," Lapis retorted with a blank face.
"For fusion, duh!" Lapis flinched. "I saw noticed your attempt to fuse with me, and because I uh.. wanted to make the experience good for you, I wanted to practice."
     "When did I try to fuse with you?" Lapis asked, raising an eyebrow ever so slightly.
     "When you kissed me on the gem, obviously!" Lapis burst out laughing.

     "Well, it wasn't. And I'm really sorry for the confusion." Peridot widened her eyes, glaring at Lapis.
     "Was that a thing humans call a "pun"? How do you even know what those are?"
     "You do know I actually listen to you right every once in a while right?"

I feel like Lapis and Peridot are out of character?
