Peridot groaned. She was out of food. Her cabinet was empty. Godammit. Grabbing her only clean hoodie left, her typical Camp Pining Hearts one, Peridot walked out her apartment to get groceries. Since her roommate, Amethyst, was on a three day trip with the Crystal Gems, Peridot was alone this time. Great. Leave the one with horrible social skills to go get food.
Peridot grumbled as she looked at the aisle of food. She was in the soup aisle, and since she usually always just meandered around after Amethyst when they shopped, she had no idea where to go. Looking for help, Peridot got the attention of a girl with her back turned. She had blue hair, and was a head taller than Peridot, although she wasn't a giant. She was wearing a purple t-shirt and blue shorts, the uniform of the employees of the store.
"Um, excuse me?" The girl turned and looked down at the blonde with ocean blue eyes. "I uh.." Damnit, Peridot was being gay again. "I'm not really used to shopping?" Peridot finally squeaked. The blue hair girl laughed, snorting. "Alright, I'll help you. What are you looking for first?"
Peridot struggled as she tried to push the full cart of items with her short stature and prosthesis. Lapis laughed at the sight, helping other people along the way.
"Well, now that you're done now, do you have any other questions?" Lapis asked, turning to the short blonde with a smile.
"Are you single?" Peridot muttered, both hoping the blue haired girl would not hear her question, and answer it.
Ah, the struggles of her gay heart.
"Yes," Lapis answered, "and I'm open to dating someone." Nodding, Peridot did exactly what she didn't want to do.
