Stop Making Me Feel

Source Of Idea: I've always liked this headcanon, even before seeing that others had written it. I wanted to try it out, even if my writing's still starting off compared to others.

Universe: High School AU

     Lapis groaned.

     Why was this happening to her? Her heart was fluttering. Under the desk, Lapis's hand was fidgeting. Lapis's mind was filled with thoughts of her.

     Her, her, her.

     She couldn't push her out of her mind.

     Goddamn Peridot Olivine.

     Lapis was fucking obsessed with Peridot Olivine. And she hated it.

     The girl who loved sappy Canadian dramas. The girl who loved space and aliens. The girl who was known as the nerd in the school. The blonde who wore flannels and hoodies. The girl with the beautiful eyes and the cutest-

     Wait. Dammit. Lapis banged her head on the desk.

     "Lapis! What are you doing?" Lapis looked up at her teacher with the most deadpan face she could manage. The raven haired girl could hear a familiar sigh from a certain blonde behind her.
     "What does it look like I'm doing." Lapis glared at her teacher.
     "You know what, I'm not even going to try anymore," her teacher sighed, turning his back to the board once again.

     "Please just leave this school." Peridot jumped. Lapis Lazuli Rivera was actually talking to her? She turned around, with her sandwich still held in front of her face, to face the girl, who was glaring at her. Peridot almost forgot to respond when she saw those eyes which she thought would never look at her.
     "Excuse me?"
     "I'm sorry, let me translate it into nerd talk," Lapis quipped. "I dislike the way you make my body react, please leave this area and or school."
     "Wha- wait. Why?" Lapis didn't answer Peridot, she just grumbled and walked away.

     Why did she have to have feelings for such an enigma?

     "You're still here," Peridot heard as she walked into her next class. She turned around to face the raven haired girl.
     "What, do you think I'd actually leave this goddamn school overnight? I hate it and all, but I value my education and-" Peridot was interrupted by Lapis's scoff.
     "Then at least meet up with me at lunch tomorrow?" Lapis interrupted, her tone badly disguising hope. Peridot flushed at the thought of being alone with Lapis, although confused as to why she'd want to meet up with her. She slowly nodded. Lapis smirked, and walked off.
     "See ya tomorrow, nerd."

     Lapis gulped. She had actually invited Peridot to meet up with her during lunch.

     What the fuck was she doing? Lapis just hated how Peridot made her feel.

     Jittery.

     Excited.

     Happy.

     Gay-

     Alright. That's enough of reading Lapis's thoughts.

     Lapis had wanted a way to get her feelings to stop, so she decided that kissing Peridot would make all those feelings go down the drain. Right?

     ....

     Lapis sucked at relationships, alright?

     Lapis snapped out of her thoughts when a certain short blonde walked into the hallway.

     Peridot looked up at Lapis, her eyes full of curiousity. "Why did you want to talk to me?" Lapis couldn't help but blush at the nerd's emerald eyes.

     Of course, Lapis being the logical person she was, she did the most reasonable thing.

     She grabbed the collar of Peridot's collar, and kissed her. Her chest burst with feeling, a warm feeling settling in.

     Peridot pulled away, blushing deeply.

     "Peridot Olivine," Lapis muttered, still holding Peridot's collar, "stop making me feel." Peridot looked shocked, gaping at Lapis with large green eyes hidden behind glasses.
     "Wait, don't tell me-" Lapis could hear the sounds of kids walking down the hallway and put a finger on the shorter blonde nerd's lips.
     "Meet up with me tomorrow."

     "Oh my stars, oh my stars, oh my starssssss-"
     "P-dot, calm down." Peridot looked up, looking into the Latino's dark eyes. "Breathe." Peridot obeyed, taking in a few deep breaths. "Now tell me what happened girl!" Peridot laughed.
     "I somehow got kissed by my crush of three years, Lapis Lazuli Rivera," she replied, blushing when she remembered when the blue haired girl's lips connected with her.
     "Wooo! I knew you'd get the girl someday!" Amethyst chortled, patting Peridot on the back.
     "Now that I think about it, I just remembered I need to meet up with her. See ya Amethyst," Peridot mumbled, getting up.
     "Don't get too far into your makeout session you hear me?" Peridot rolled her eyes, smirking as she walked down to the hallway with Lapis.

     Lapis Lazuli Rivera.

     When Peridot had arrived, Lapis was blushing ever so slightly. Peridot couldn't help but voice the question that had been eating her insides since yesterday.
     "Lapis do you," Peridot paused, looking down at the ground blushing, "have feelings for me?" When Peridot looked up, she expected Lapis to look disgusted, surprised, or laughing her ass off.

     So when Peridot looked up to a flustered Lapis Lazuli, Peridot could only think one thing.

     Lapis Lazuli's lips look very soft.

     Peridot did the last thing anyone would ever expect her to do.

     She grabbed the collar of Lapis's leather jacket, and kissed her.

     "Because I sure as hell do."
