Lapis poked Peridot's nose as the two laid on the latter's bed. The couple were simply enjoying each other's presence, doing almost nothing the whole day but cuddle and talk to each other. Peridot moved her hand over to grab her blue haired girlfriend's hand as she felt her girlfriend hesitate to say something.
"Peridot?" Lapis whispered.
"What is it?" Peridot whispered back, running her thumb over the side of Lapis's hand. The tan girl took a deep breath before asking, "Would you think of me any worse if I told you something?"
"What? No! Of course not!" Peridot assured, squeezing the taller girl's hand. "Why, if it's okay to ask?"

"I'm a bad person," Lapis simply answered, staring at the ceiling of the blonde's bedroom.
"What? No you aren't!" Peridot exclaimed, sitting up to look at Lapis. "In what way are you a bad person?"
"Peridot, you don't even know the full extent of it," Lapis sighed, looking up at the white ceiling.
"Well, can I know?" Peridot quietly asked.
"Jasper and I were horrible to each other. We did such bad things to each other I just-" Lapis paused to pull her hand away, "I'm scared that you'll hate me for doing them; that you'll leave me because of things I've done."

Peridot took in a deep breath, and shifted to lay down on the small bed. She stared at the ceiling a bit before assuring Lapis, "I promise that I won't judge you for past things." Peridot shifted to face Lapis, who was staring back at her with tears in her blue eyes.

     "I don't think that past actions make up who you are. We can change. Hey, I've done some bad things too! At one point, I tried to steal Steven's money, and even directed Jasper to try to kill his mother! We all do bad things Lapis!" At this point, Peridot was sitting up, gesturing wildly with her hands. She brought her hands to a ball in front of her chest. "But I think that it isn't the past that defines who you are. Yeah, it can affect you, but I think that it's the present that should define who you are. And honestly," Peridot paused her speech to lean closer to Lapis, "I think Lapis Lazuli Rivera is pretty great." Peridot kissed Lapis's cheek.

     Throughout her gushing of feelings to Lapis, Peridot hadn't paid attention to how Lapis was reacting. Now, she realized Lapis was crying happily. She felt Lapis grab her shoulders, and briefly kiss her lips. Peridot felt calm and tranquil, and laughed happily.

"Do you really think so?" Lapis asked as the two calmed down, cuddling.
     "Of course! You're a good person Lapis." Peridot kissed Lapis's cheek.
