Universe: My Human AU

It was starting to turn into the season of autumn, causing the ground to constantly be covered in crunchy leaves. Lapis and Peridot were sitting in their house, Peridot sitting on one side, Lapis on the other. Peridot was busy typing on her laptop, working on some assignment that Lapis had no clue about. "Periiiiiiiii," Lapis groaned, burying her face into Pumpkin's fur. "Hmm?" Peridot answered, her eyes on her laptop, her hair bouncing whenever she moved her head to glance at the clock, since she had a time she had to have her assignment finished. "Are you colddddd-" Lapis was interrupted by Peridot putting her hand over Lapis's mouth, making the blue haired girl laugh. "Alright, I get it, you're bored, but please, speak normally. My head kinda hurts right now," Peridot mumbled.
"Are you cold?" "No?"
Five minutes later, Lapis went over to Peridot as Pumpkin went somewhere else, yipping quietly. "How about now?" she asked. "Nope."
"Now?" "Nah, not really. Why do you keep asking me that?" Peridot shut off her laptop, signaling that she had finished her work. "So I can have a reason to hug you," Lapis pouted. Peridot laughed, setting her laptop down on the table in front of the couch. "You can hug me anytime you know," Peridot lazily said as she laid her head down onto Lapis's chest. "Really?" Lapis asked, her dark blue eyes full of fear. "Yes, of course. That is, if you're okay with it, that is," Peridot smiled, closing her eyes. Lapis rested her chin on top of Peridot's head and wrapped her arms around her as the smaller girl dozed off.
When Lapis was sure Peridot was asleep, she quickly kissed the center of Peridot's forehead.
