Source Of Idea: That one prompt that says there's a counter on your wrist that counts down to when you meet your soulmate
Universe: Counter AU

Tick, tock.
Tick, tock.
Tick, tock.
Peridot watched the timer on her wrist go down that whole day. Today was the day Peridot was meant to meet her soulmate. The one she was meant to spend the rest of her life with. That was a terrifying thought.
There were thoughts running through Peridot's head faster than you could say "Oh my stars". She was nervous about the whole ordeal; what if she was too nerdy? Too annoying? What if her soulmate decided to just leave her and fall in love by themselves?
Since Peridot had a counter on the bottom of her wrist, it did mean that this was the first time her and her soulmate's soul were to interact. After this life, after they had met, their souls were intertwined. If her soulmate were to leave now, hopefully they still met so that their souls could touch, and Peridot could set it up for her next world.
Peridot was so caught up in her thoughts, she didn't realize that her clock had reached one minute. Her pale blue eyes glanced over the numbers as they went down.
Tick, tock.
Tick, tock.
Tick, rock.
Thirty. Peridot looked around. She was sitting on a bench at the park, with a few other people. According to her actual watch, it was almost time for her to open up her tech shop. Across the park, Steven was playing with his friend Connie. Smiling at the two kids playing, Peridot hadn't realized her clock reached zero.
"Excuse me?" She whipped around. This was it. Peridot turned to face a blue haired girl. She had tan skin, and freckles that ran across her cheeks. She was wearing a crop top and leggings, and had no shoes on, showing her ankle bracelets. Around her right arm, there were bandages, covering her timer. "I was wondering if you knew where the nearest tech shop was? My phone broke, and I need it to be fixed." The girl looked up from her broken phone into Peridot's eyes, and Peridot swore those were the prettiest blue eyes she'd ever seen. They were a dark ocean blue, with golden flakes, reminding Peridot of the stone lapis lazuli.
"Your eyes are like something from a fanfiction," Peridot muttered, not realizing it was outloud. This made the girl, who Peridot decided to nickname Lazuli, laugh loudly, with a few snorts in between. Blushing, Peridot pushed her glasses up. "U-uh, I mean! I'm the shop owner of the tech shop around here," Peridot embarrassingly blurted, looking at grass below her feet. She slowly looked up into those blue eyes, almost making Peridot stutter again. "I can help you with your phone."
When Peridot had brought back the taller girl to her shop, she was examining her phone while Lazuli was looking at the nerdy posters hanging on the walls.
"Camp Pining Hearts, huh?" Lazuli randomly blurted. Peridot perked her head up.
"You watch it too?" Peridot excitedly answered, smiling.
"Yep."
"Wanna watch it together sometime?"
"Sure, but why?" Peridot immediately blushed. Did the girl realize she was her soulmate?
Taking in a deep breath, Peridot looked at her wrist. The clock she had been so accustomed to be counting now was blinking a bunch of blinking zeros. Once she were to kiss Lapis, the clocks were to disappear. Before that, their timers glowed the closer they got.
"I think you're my soulmate," Peridot whispered.
"W-wait, what?" the girl stuttered. She slowly moved her eyes toward the bandages on her wrist. Her hand slowly moved to remove it. The clock on her wrist was the same as Peridot's, blinking zeros, the timer seeming to be glowing.
Thump, thump.
Thump, thump.
Thump, thump.
Blushing slightly, Peridot moved closer, making her wrist basically a flashlight, along with Lapis's.
"Can I kiss you?" Peridot asked. Surprised, Lapis looked down. Then, she nodded imperceptibly. The shorter girl felt her heart start beating faster.
Thump, thump.
Thump, thump.
Thump, thump.
Lapis leaned down to reach Peridot, and they had kissed for a brief second. When they pulled away, Peridot was beaming while Lapis was grinning softly. Their timers had disappeared.
"You're my soulmate huh?" Peridot nodded excitedly, making Lapis chuckle. "Can I get a refund then?" Peridot looked at Lapis with wide eyes.
"Wha-"
"Cause I think you're too cute for me to function."
Thump, thump.
Thump, thump.
Thump, thump.
