Sometimes I feel like writing lapidot and bam. This'll be a book full of one-shots.
Updates will vary a lot, so be ready for that.
Please note I have no idea how to write romance, since I'm not really used to fanfiction in general. So please tell me...

It was another fight. Lapis and the Crystal Gems were fighting off another horde of corrupted in the Kindergarten, each gem (and half human gem!) breathing heavily. Garnet was holding off a large forced fusion as Pearl and Amethyst tried to fight it. Peridot and Lapis were at the back, trying to use water and metal to attack the large creature. Steven had his shield out, trying to protect everyone he could. Little did the tired gems notice, the corrupted gem creeping up on Lapis and Peridot.
The gem attacked Lapis, immediately poofing her after she gave Peridot a look of distress. Shrieking, Peridot grabbed Lapis's gem, gently holding her in her hands, tears forming. "Peridot!" Steven yelled, running over to see Lapis in Peridot's hands. "Is Lapis okay?" "Y-yes, from what I saw," Peridot stammered, thoughts flooding her head of what would've happened if Lapis's gem cracked. "You should go help the gems Steven. I'll stay here with Lapis..." Steven gave her a look of worry, before running back to the Crystal Gems.
More corrupted gems had come out, and it was soon obvious that it was too dangerous to have Peridot hold Lapis's gem. "Peridot, you should send her back," Garnet decided as the gems had gotten a quick break. "But what if Lapis feels trapped in the bubble? What if the bubble reminds her of when she was trapped in the mirror?" Pearl had winced at the word mirror, looking down at the dusty ground. "We have no choice!" Garnet insisted, but before they could talk more, a bone-chilling scream could be heard echoing off the walls of the Kindergarten. The gems whipped around facing the large creature. It was disfigured, arms and legs making up it's body, with a large mouth at it's top, a green liquid oozing down the side. Grimacing, Steven went up to help the gems, but even with the four gems, they were pretty much no match. Seeing the danger, Peridot agreed to bubble Lapis. She cared about her, after all.
Before Peridot bubbles Lapis though, she holds Lapis's gem close, and whispers, "I promise that I won't keep you in the bubble for long. I'll get you out as soon as I can." She kissed her gem, learning that from her favorite show Camp Pining Hearts, and bubbled the gem.
As soon as the Crystal Gems managed to poof the fusion with the help of their own kind of fusion, Peridot warped back to the barn. She ran over to the light green bubble holding Lapis, which was floating next to her meepmorp. Popping the bubble, Peridot held Lapis's gem tightly, but also gently at the same time. "L-lapis," Peridot stammered quietly, "it's safe now."
Five hours later, when Peridot had set Lapis's gem on a blanket and was watching Camp Pining Hearts, Lapis's gem started to glow. When Lapis had reformed, she was wearing a blue shirt humans called a "crop top" with a blue diamond, and a dark blue skirt flowing around her legs. Her shirt had a hole in the back, showing Lapis's gem. Lapis formed collapsed on the ground, clutching her arms tightly. "Lapis!" Peridot exclaimed, running over to Lapis from the TV. "Are you okay?" Lapis opened her mouth to answer, but Peridot noticed she was breathing a bit shakily, so she hugged her hard. "Are you?" Peridot murmured into Lapis's shoulder, moving away to look at her face. Lapis was looking at her in shock, before her face morphed into relief. "Thank you." Peridot's face showed confusion, which almost made Lapis coo out loud from her adorable expression. "For what?" Lapis hugged Peridot again, smiling into the smaller gem's shoulder.
"Caring."
