Zayn stayed next to me the whole time, not mentioning anything about what happened. He was happy to see me alive and wanted to keep feeling happy, mostly making me happy.
He sat next to me, until his family ran to our room, crying and with their faces red.
- Christine..Zayn.. – Trisha hugged us tight. – I won't let you go out ever again!
- Mom..we are fine. I promise.
- Did the nurse check on you? You okay Chris? I was so worried, oh my God. What did happen, Zayn?
- Brother! Mom! – Cameran jumped in the bed like he was in home. I couldn't believe he was calling me mom.
- I will later, mom.
- Hey little hero, how are you? – I tried to forget all the negativity and make Cameran happy.
- I am great but you don't look good. Why is that machine connected to you?
- It's not..a machine. – I looked around and Zayn went outside to his parents, he made me a sign that he was right there. – I am taking serum.
- What's that?
- It's what..heroes need to take when their battery is too low.
- Oh, now I understand. But did you fight? Why isn't your battery 100 per cent?
- Yes..I did fight but..I will get better, I will get out of here soon!
- Today? – Zi asked me for the first time something since she got in the room.
- I wish it could be today..it's so late as well..I am sorry if you had to come here.
- We got really worried about you, love, we wouldn't be safe at home knowing you were here.
- Nothing bothered you while we were...
- No love, we were fine, thinking you were good. Look, where is Michael?
I knew that question would come to any of us and I was the one who had to answer, not in ten minutes or at home but exactly in that moment. Thinking it had to be me saying he was killed by them, was harder than I ever thought. After hours, I was still in shock by what I saw and felt and my tension started to get higher.
- He..Zi.. I am sorry.
- Cameran, go see where is your mum, please. – she looked at him with tears, knowing what had happened. Cameran automatically ran to outside. – What..what happened?
- We didn't want it to happen, we did everything we could but we were surrounded by them. He got out of the car and in 4 steps..he was dead in the floor. Zayn started to guide the car so we could reach the..
I couldn't finish the sentence seeing her crying, sobbing in my bed, like she was loosing her best friend or even somebody she truly loves. It was hard to see him dying but it was harder to see Zi suffering over that.
I cried hugging her saying everything would be alright, but I knew that quote never helped somebody before.
- Where..is..his body?
- In the road, between the woods. I don't know the name..
- We need..to make him a funeral.
- Zi, I don't want to sound negative but..I don't know if they kept the body. Gangstars are really dangerous..I am sorry but I don't want to go there.
- I understand, and I am sure Zayn won't go there but don't worry..now.. – she cleaned the tears and tried to give me a smile – you both need to get out of this city.
- You know what was their plan, right?
- They wanted to kill you.
- Both of us, actually..after what I lived in that room, the first one would be Zayn and then, maybe..me.
- You need to be protect. Do you have the key?
- I.. I..I don't know.
- Oh my God..you don't remember, love?
- No..I fainted when I saw it because..when we arrived, the house was a mess and then..then we saw Tanny walking in and then, I fainted. I don't know if Zayn held the key.
- Do you want me to go ask him?
- No..no, it's alright.
In this moment, Trisha and Zayn appeared in the room. Yaser and Cameran weren't there.
- Where is..
- Oh they are buying some food in the hospital's bar. – Trisha smiled at me. – How do you feel?
- I am alright, my head just started to hurt a bit.
- Babe, you want me to call a nurse?
- No Zayn, I just want to get out of here.
