Summer Love

chapter 7

****after breakfest

Leaving Ethan and the cabin, I went to bathroom to brush my teeth. Being the last one in line for brushing my teeth means I have to wait a long time. Once I finish I realize that Riley is still in the bathroom so I wait for her seeing that our cabin left already for watercraft. Finally I see her come out of the washroom.

"Where is the rest of our cabin?" she asks confused. I roll my eyes.

"They left. They have been leaving me by myself all of the time we have been here. I've been doing everything with the Pine Cabin."

She smiles. "Maybe its because there is someone in that cabin that catches your eye. By the way how have you and Quantum been doing so far?"

I smile at her. "Great. Actually, I know its really soon but we already told each other we love each other. He told me first. Also we live in the same area. He lives in Ancaster which is ten minutes from where I live."

She looked at me with surprise. "He told you he loved you? And you said it back?"

I nodded. She smiled and we started on our way to the cabin.

"Just be careful okay Riley. I don't want him to break you. He seems really sweet and he is really good looking for being a nerd but please be careful." she says.

I look at her and nod. "I will. I am mostly scared that once I leave camp that he will forget about me and find a counselor here that is his age and easier to date." I look down upset. I've been thinking that way since he asked me out yesterday. We reach our cabin and start getting out our stuff.

"Well I doubt he will do that," she starts, "Anyways we have watercraft right now with the pine boys."

I laugh. "Great, now he can see how fat I am in a bathing suit while I can see how good he looks in his."

Riley looked at me really upset. "Your not fat. Why do you think that? Sure you and me aren't like the other girls in our cabin but would he date you if he didn't think you were beautiful."

"Honestly, I don't know why he would want to date me. There are so many pretty counselors and campers. Why me?"

Riley starts searching through her stuff until she finds whatever she is looking for. She pulls out this white one-piece bathing suit that is appropriate for camp but still really pretty. She throws it at me.

"It's clean, trust me. After you wear it give it to Ethan and tell him to wash it for you."

I nod and slip it on. I look in the mirror at the back of the front door. Its really pretty but its a little bit revealing, which is unlike me. Riley turn around from changing and gasps.

"It's really pretty Riley. Lets go before they found out we are missing."

We both put on a shirt for the walk to the beach. We leave the cabin and five minutes later we are down at the beach. Once there I see Ethan standing looking like he is waiting for somebody. Once he sees Riley and I he jogs over to us.

"Where were you girls? Your counselors didn't notice but I knew that you girls were in their cabin but weren't here."

"Sorry, we were left behind at the lodge so we went to the cabin by ourselves to change into our bathing suits." Riley answers.

Riley then leaves to go swim with Emma and Flora. Ethan looks at me after she leaves.

"So what do you want to do to?" He asks.

I look to Riley, Flora, and Emma. They wave for me to come to them. "Ethan, can we go swim with Riley, Flora, and Emma?"

He smiles. "Sure."

We go to where all the other towels are so I can put mine down and take my shirt off. I take my shirt off and he stares at me. I blush and wrap my arms around my body. He takes my arms and spreads them out.

"Riley you are beautiful. Just because you aren't as skinny as the other girls in your cabin doesn't make me not love you. I actually love you more because you don't look like them. Your unique and I love that. You are really pretty." I start to cry a little because he can tell how much body bothers me and he tells me that's why he loves me. Because I am not the same as other girls my age.

I latch arms with him and he starts dragging me into the water over to where the girls are. Once we get to a certain spot he bends down so only his head is really showing. He then grabs my hand and pulls me down to him. I wrap my legs around his waist and wrap my arms around his neck. He walks over to where the girls are and they open up their circle for us. I turn around and sit on his knee with his arms around my stomach.

"Hey Riley." said Flora and Emma

"Hey guys. This is Quantum, he is like my brother. We've known each other for a while now." That was the cover would tell people so they wouldn't get curious. The girls nodded while Riley smirked. Ethan squeezed his arms around me kind of like saying he understood that this story was our cover story for anyone to hear.

The girls start talking about some of the boys in the Pine and Tamarack cabin. Those boys are the same age as these girls. Not me though. I am the oldest camper this week. I zone out because I don't care to talk about boys since Ethan and I are dating. Ethan has his head on top of mine and you can tell he has his eyes closed because he isn't talking and what else would he do. All of a sudden I get a squeeze from Ethan and look to him. He nods his head to the girls.

"What did you ask? I'm sorry I'm kind of tired."

"That's okay," said Emma, "We just asked if there are any boys you find cute in the Pine or Tamarack cabins." I start to panic because I don't want Ethan to get mad. I don't find any of the boys that cute that way. Yea they are cute in a young brother way but not in the way Emma and Flora are thinking. I squeeze to try and let him know I'm lying about what I am going to say.

"Uhh, I guess Camden is kind of cute." I say. "I'm going to go farther. Quantum do you want to come?" I turn to him. He nods and starts walking with me.
