Summer Love

chapter 29

"Josh, what the heck?" I yelled. I wiped my mouth and looked at Josh with shock. "I have a boyfriend Josh. I'm sorry but don't do that again."

He looked down with his head in his hands. "I'm sorry Riley. I didn't know. I promise that I won't do that again. I honestly don't know what came over me. Out of no where my mind was telling me that a good idea would be to kiss you."

I forgave him. I mean why wouldn't I. He said he didn't mean it. And even if her did mean it he promised never to do it again. If he does do it again I will then b really upset.

"It's okay Josh. I forgive you." I said to him. His face beamed and he hugged me. " But we should really practice the song one more time before down and out is over."

He nodded and picked up his guitar while I picked up my ukulele. While we were playing the song again all I could do was think.

Ethan and I have been dating for four days. Literally a lot of things have happened in the last twenty-four hours that could have broken us up and I guess still could. Starting with Arctic. He kisses me right in front of Ethan. Then Ethan decides that the best option was to punch Arctic. Then I decide to give myself a break from talking to Ethan so that way we can both clear our heads and come back stronger than ever. Now though Josh kissed me, making me have to tell Ethan causing the option of Ethan wanting to break up with me for what happened.

Down and out finishes right after I finish the last verse. I hop off the table and walk inside with Josh. I put my ukulele on my bed and put my hair in a bun. I go up to Josh and ask what we doing right now. My brother comes over and informs me that we are going to Kumbaya field for archery as a small activity before showers.

The cabin heads over their with Josh and I holding up the rear.

"Aren't you always with Quantum? What happened to that?" Josh asked me while we were passing through the Maple and the Huckleberry cabin.

"This morning when Arctic, Quantum and I were late to chapel, Arctic and Quantum got into a small fight about something stupid and it ended with Quantum yelling at Arctic and calling hi something he shouldn't have. I yelled at Quantum telling him to go to breakfast and I will take Arctic back to his cabin. He left and we went to his cabin. I then walked back to the cabin and thought for today I will take a break from Quantum so that way my head is clear." I explained to Josh.

He nodded his head. "Are you still going to talk to him after your shower? He wanted to talk to you but we went outside. I don't think you should blow him off just because you want a break from him. It would show you where his head is at and see if you guys will be okay." Josh offered.

"Yeah. Maybe you are right Josh. Even if I still don't want to talk to him for the rest of the day I at least know where he is with all of this and know that we may be okay." I say.

We get to the archery area and the boys line up. I lined up behind Josh and Wyatt.

****time skip to showers****

We just were walking into the lodge from the cabin where we grabbed our shower stuff. The boys ran to the bathroom to try and get the first five showers. Josh, Wyatt, and three other boys walked back out. I started laughing. I could shower right away and take longer because I was the only girl showering. I went to the first shower going behind the curtain and got undressed hopping the shower. I quickly did everything I need to do, then drying off and putting clean clothes on. My blueish gray shorts with a New York 69 t-shirt. I then French braided my wet hair and putting on my Montreal Canadiens hat. I walk out and Wyatt, Josh and the others that were supposed to go second are stilling waiting.

"How are they still in there? I've been in the girls bathroom for...." I looked at my watch...." Fifteen minutes." I said. Sirius went in and told the boys to hurry up.

I then turned to see Ethan sitting on the bench that was right beside the door to leave the lodge. I walked over there while at the same time putting my shower stuff in my bag.

"You wanted to talk." I said to Ethan. He got up and opened the door letting me go first. He lead me across the field of dreams. Once we were half way he started talking.

"We broke up didn't we? We broke up because I punched Arctic. I got jealous and punched him and now I lost you. Is that how we are going to do this? I am still going to watch. I am still going to love you. Riley four days so little time to love somebody but I have been able to do with a snap.  How could you just end it so fast? You love me don't you? That's what you say to me anyways. Riley I love you please don't tell me we are do.."

I kissed him. I pulled his head down to me and I kissed him. Right out in the open of the field of dreams. He grabbed my cheeks . I let go and stepped back.

"Josh kissed me." I said.

I looked up to Ethan. He was going from his dazed state from being kissed to anger.

"HE KISSED YOU. HE FUCKING KISSED YOU. RILEY WHY DID HE KISS YOU. I WILL BEAT HIM UP." He started yelling.

"QUANTUM SHUT UP!!!!!" I yelled back. He stopped. "He kissed me but I let go. I asked him why he said that he had no idea. He promised to never do it again. Ethan he is my friend. Please don't beat him up. I love you, okay? We never broke up. I was just angry because Arctic is family to me. I love him. I just some space for a little."

"Do you still need space? Because I can give you space if you need it." He said.

"No. I missed you but I still want to hang out with friends like Josh." I explained. He nodded. He grabbed my arm pulling me on to his back and walking fast to the boys who were just leaving the lodge heading to the cabin to get really for free swim. Ethan and I decided not to go in the water. We were just going to keep our clothes on because we both showered today.
