Ethan starts to rip open the package. Inside is a necklace with angel wings. He pulls it out and looks at it. He then looks inside the package to see if there is a name of who gave it to him. He find a note in the bottom and takes it out. He opens the note and reads it in his head. It's a short note so once he finishes he turns to me and smiles. He leans his head down a bit and connects our lips together. He slowly moves his lips against mine while bringing his hand to my cheek. I let go of his lips and look up at him.
"Thanks Riley. I love you a lot. But how and why did you get me a angel wing necklace." He asked.
"Before Sunday, I went to the store and got two angel wing necklaces. I thought I would find a friend that would last and I would give the other necklace to them to show that we are friends. But now I found something so much better. You." I explain. I open my hand to show the matching necklace to Ethan's. I take the clasps putting the necklace around my neck and putting it on. Ethan follows what I did and puts his on. I wrap my arms around his waist and snuggle my head at his stomach. He rests his head on mine.
"I love you so much Riley. I know its only been a few days but I really love you. I can't wait for next week when we will be home and we can hang out all week before I come back here for the summer. I can't wait to meet your parents and see your house and be able to be with you when ever we want." He rambles.
"Ethan?" I ask.
"Yea." He responds.
"Where do you live? You go to Ancaster High so it can't be to far from me because that's the school I am supposed to be at." I continue.
" I live on 9174 Dickenson Road West. " He answers.
I look up at him in disbelief. He looks at me concerned.
"What's wrong Riley?" He asks starting to get worried.
"I live at 9180 Dickenson Road West. You live four houses down from me. How did we never notice each other?" I wonder.
"Well to be honest Ri I never knew their were kids my age on the Dickenson. I know that there are young kids down the street and I know that used to be a girl named Summer who came in the Summer time to live with her grandpa and she was two years younger than me. I knew that there was a boy that lived a few houses down that used to play soccer by himself."
"A boy who used to play soccer by himself?" I thought about it for a bit. "That's my brother!"
" Really I guess that makes sense because I sometimes remember seeing a girl play catch with him. I guess that girl is you." He says.
I nod. " I can not believe that we live a few house down from each other and we never fully recognised each other when we first got here. "
"It probably doesn't help that you never came to the high school you were supposed to come to."
"Yea. Probably." I look at him after thinking for a few moments.
"Ethan?" I asked.
"Mmhmmm?"
"What are we going to do when school starts? We are at two different schools so we would only see each other when we got home from school?" I explain.
He shakes his head. "Honestly, who cares at this point? We will figure things out later. It's only been two weeks into the summer."
We sit there in silence just thinking and being with each other. I look up at him, looking at all of his features. His nose, his lips, his brown eyes hidden behind his thin glasses, his short brown hair, his hat, just everything. I smile that I could be so lucky to be with him even though we aren't supposed to be together.
He looks down noticing me and leans down. He connects are lips and moves them slowly with mine. He grabs both sides of my face with his hands and rubs my cheeks. I run my hands through his hair, flipping off his hat in the process. He lets go off my lips and makes his way down my neck with small kisses. He reaches just under the hem of the top of my shirt and bites down on the skin. He uses his tongue to lessen the pain and kisses it. He looks back at me with his chocolate brown eyes.
"Now you will always know that you are mine." He says quietly. Suddenly we hear crunching of twigs and I shoot up from my position on his lap. I sit criss crossed with my head down making it look like I was crying. I started rubbing my eyes to redden the skin around them and to make it look like I'm wiping away tears. Ethan catches on and starts to rub my back to pretend to comfort me. He turns his head to see who it is. He turns back and curses under his breath.
"Boto." He whispers. Fuck. It could be anybody but no it had to be her. I'm pretty sure she doesn't believe Ethan and I's lie about why we are close. The thing is, what if it was true and she just wasn't believing it because she wants Ethan for herself.
Out of the corner of my eye I see her walk right up to us.
"Hi Ethan." She says all perky and pretending I'm not here.
"Hello Boto. " He replies.
"Alex. Ethan you know my name is Alex." She says still happy.
"There is a camper right here, we go by our nature names." He retorts.
"Well, I don't believe that she doesn't call you Ethan as well. You guys seem to be way to close for your story and I think there is something else going on. Also you are eighteen Ethan, she's a minor to you. So if I am right you could get in big trouble for dating a camper and a minor. And anyways you belong with me Ethan." She explains.
"Well Boto, firstly your assumption for us dating is false. Our story is not a story because it is 100% true. Secondly, Riley was having a small anxiety attack so right I am trying to comfort her but that's kind of hard to do when your here talking about this. So if you could just leave that would be great." Ethan replies with a angry tone.
Alex scorfs and starts making her way down to the beach, leaving me and Ethan.
