I never really look at the houses down our street so I never really noticed it but Ethan's house was beautiful. It was the same size as my house but it looked completely different. It was rustic looking and it just fit the woods surrounding it. The inside is even more rustic but I love it.
I have been here for a few days and his mother is amazing. When I first got here Ethan was nervous that she was going to be upset that he was dating a minor and that she was going to be staying over for a bit. She was totally accepting and understood that sometimes families and need space. She also allowed us to sleep in the same room as long as the door was opened. She trusted us but she also understood that sometimes teenage hormones makes us do crazy things that we might regret later.
Right now Ethan and I were outside in the backyard swinging on a bench swing on the porch. I was reading a book called Reaper Man while Ethan was lying in my lap playing with the hem of my shirt.
"I have to back on Saturday." He announced. I put my book down. I knew he had to go back to Camp soon but I just was not ready to be left alone. This my sound really petty and clingy but I got used to being with Ethan a lot so I am not excited to be by myself. I also don't want to go back home and have to deal with my parents.
I sighed. "I know."
"But I have been thinking." He started. He sat up and looked at me. "That maybe you could come with me."
"How is that going to happen? I don't have enough money to go back once never mind the rest of the summer. Also there are some weeks with campers my age are not even there so what do I do those weeks." I was confused. What was he thinking and how was this all going to work.
"I called John when you were sleeping this morning and asked him if there was something you could do throughout the rest of the summer where you wouldn't have to pay but you would do something that would pay back. He said that you could do a number of things. You could be a helper counselor meaning that you wouldn't be getting paid and you wouldn't be aloud to be alone with kids. You would be helping me the whole summer so I could keep an eye on you. You could also help in kitchen or one of the other jobs around camp. It' s up to you Riley." He explained.
"I would love to do the first option. I get to spend the rest of the summer with you and at my favourite place as well. I love you Ethan." I jumped over to him and connected our lips. He placed his hands underneath my white off the shoulders shirt rubbing up and down my abdomen. My hands were in Ethan's hair twirling his hair and probably making it very messy. He pulled away with a smile while my hair which was in a bun started to get messier making some hair to fall in my face. I pouted and tried to blow the hair out of my face. It didn't work and Ethan laughed.
"You are so adorable Riley. I love you." He whispered against while leaning in to kiss me again. Suddenly the door to the backyard slammed and Mrs. Hawthon walked out side with a bucket of our laundry.
"Hey kids." She said with a smirk. Ethan mumbled with a blush knowing that his mom did that on purpose.
"Hi mum." Ethan started getting up from the swing and bringing me with him to where his mom was starting to hang the laundry. "Riley is coming with me back to camp for the rest of the summer."
"That's great sweetie. Does her parents know? I can drive her there with you but I don't want her parents to find out while she is there and then get mad at me for helping you get her away from them." Mrs. Hawthon said.
"Oh." Was Ethan's reply. I don't think he really thought about my parents. We haven't really gone near my house since I got back. We went out to Starbucks and we have been out just for a drive but that's it really. We found solitude in just being together at Ethan's house.
"We'll go after supper to tell them and I will grab the stuff I will need for camp Mrs. Hawthon." I said politely. She was very laid back but I am always scared to offend adults especially my boyfriends mom.
"Like I said the first day Riley. It's Auroa. Okay. I'll go inside and make hamburgers. Veggie burger good for you Riley?" She asked.
"Yup thank you for caring about my change in diet." I said back. I have always wanted to change to vegetarian but my dad always said that that would be a hassle and not for him to make it such a pain for him while he is cooking so I have stayed to eating meat as much as I don't like it.
"I guess I am going to have to call John and tell him to change that on your health packet for camp." Ethan said turning to me when his mom went back inside. I nodded.
He leaned down kissing me and bringing his hands to my cheeks. He held my face while he let go and looked into my eyes.
"I love you so much Ethan. You don't understand how much you changed me and you don't understand that without you I would be a sad girl with nobody to rely on to be there for me." I whispered with a few tears running down my face. He took his thumbs and wiped the tears away and kissed my lips again.
"I love you Riley and you have made me the happiest person in the whole world and I cant thank you enough for that." He reply.
"SUPPER!!!"
"Yay, veggie burgers are my favourite." I said to Ethan as we walked to the door.
"I thought Caeser Salad was your favourite?" Ethan questioned. I laughed. "You confuse me but I love you."
