"Are you ready, Love?" Killian called up the stairs of their house. He had planned a romantic date night for a special occasion, although he had withheld the latter. He heard heels collide with the wooden floor as her footsteps quickly approached him. "Hello, beautiful." He greeted her with peck on the cheek once she was standing next to him. The altitude of her heels almost completely neglected their height difference.

"Shall we?" She asked, spinning around a bit in attempt to induce Killian. And given by the way his eyes were locked on her figure and the way he licked his lips, I'd say mission accomplished.

He took her small hand in his and led her towards the door. "No need to induce me, Swan." He whispered in her ear as he opened the front door for her. "You already succeeded in that." She giggled, sounding like music to Killian's ears. He continued to guide her towards his car, opening the door to the passenger's seat for her once they arrived. She quickly pecked his lips before climbing into the car before him. He started the engine and drove towards the restaurant while she threaded their fingers together and safely rested them on his leg.

A good fifteen minutes later he pulled up in the parking lot behind the fancy restaurant. He ran towards the other side of the car, just in time to be a spicy gentleman in his leather jacket and open door for her. Later, it appeared to be wise of him, because she tripped and nearly fell. But luckily, he was there to catch her and she collapsed into his insuring arms.

"So?" She began, taking a sip of her white wine. "Are you going to tell me why you went to great limits to arrange this? Which, by the way, I know you did. Or do I have to guess?" She looked at him through her eyelashes while biting her lip, knowing Killian found it irresistible.

"Patience is a virtue, Miss Swan." He enlightened her. She giggled as she shook her head before both their attentions were drawn back to the menu.

Moments later the waitress arrived and they ordered their food. Meanwhile, Emma had detected Killian was slightly nervous. Which appeared to be rather strange, Killian had always been a type of man to flirt, a man who was full of himself. Not particularly in a bad way though. Although he had mostly dropped those ways of living when he met Emma, this was highly unlikely for him.

"Hey," She grabbed his hand, ending his thinking trance, and making him look at her. "What's going on? You're acting strange." She pointed out.

He nodded as he looked down to his lap in shame. He was embarrassed because he kept the truth from her. He knew she would forgive him after she learned what his plan was, but that didn't take away that he felt beyond guilty. "I'm fine. I'm just nervous."

"Why would you be nervous?" She asked as her eyebrows pulled together. He swore he heard a trace of hurt in her voice. She wasn't the one to blame though, she had no clue what was going on. All she knew was that she thought they were past the zone where you were beyond nervous on dates.

"Because of what I'm about to do." He finally dared to look her in the eye, and was surprised about what he encountered there. He expected to find her moss green eyes filled with anger, but all he found was confusion. He had trouble deciding what was worse.

"And what would that be?"

"Just shush, and you will find out." He stood up and signaled for the waitress to turn down the volume. He preferred Emma could hear him during this special moment, which she would hopefully only witness once in her life...with him. He knelt beside her and pulled a velvet, black-colored box out of his pocket. She was sure what the it contained. "Before you say anything, just let me do my speech and make you cry, and with that myself too." He said when she opened her mouth, ready to answer him before he had even popped the question. "As you know I'm quite the expert with words, they never fail to come to me. But with you, my love, I've had plenty other experiences. You can leave me speechless by walking into the room. I know you will never intentionally let me down, hurt me. I know you will love me unconditionally. And I promise to do all those things as well. Because that is what you deserve, Swan. I love you more than I will ever be capable of telling you. So, what do you say, love? Marry me?" He was right. By the time the last pair of words slipped out of his mouth, the tears were pouring out of both their eyes.

"Love? Say something, this is real." Just as she was about to answer his important question, she woke up.

The sound of her phone ringing in the background filled her ear canal as her mind slowly drifted back to reality and she could translate the ringing. She shot up straight and opened her eyes, in the hope it would clear out the darkness, but it remained there. She quickly understood it must be dark already. Her eyes searched for her phone until they fell upon a small source of light on the dining table. She stumbled over to it and took a quick glance at the time. It was already eleven p.m. Two questions went through her mind when she saw it was an unknown number. Who the hell was calling her? Where the hell was Killian?

She picked up the phone just in time. "Hello?" She asked as she walked around the room, switching on the lights.

"Hello. Is this Emma Swan?" The woman on the other end said. She seemed kind, but Emma was too despairing to care. She needed to know who she was and what was going on, right now.

"Yes, this her." She replied, trying not to sound rude. All she longed for were answers. "What is going on? Where is Killian?" She practically yelled at the woman.

"Oh, so you know Killian Jones?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I'm afraid I have some bad news. Killian Jones was victim in a car accident. You were the last one he called and since he hasn't gotten any relatives that are registered here, we thought to give you a call." She felt her whole world break down, which was actually only Killian. He was all she had left and there was no way in hell she was losing him now, not after she just got him back.

"I'll be right there." She chocked, hanging up before the woman could say another word.

She gathered all the stuff she would be needing together while she dialed David's number. She was sensible enough to see driving in her current condition wasn't the best option. Because of the tears see could barely see anything, her hands were trembling and dozens of 'what if's' rushed through her mind.

After agreeing with David to meet in front of their campus, she turned all the lights back off and locked the door behind her. A little over twenty minutes later David pulled up. She hopped inside. "Emma, are you oka-"

"Just drive." She cut him off, blinking a couple of times to prevent the salty tears from rolling down her cheeks. He nodded and sped away, probably crossing all the possible speed limits. But he couldn't care less.

Half an hour later he pulled up at the hospital. He stopped in front of the entrance so Emma could jump out while David parked the car. She ran inside and immediately ran over to the front desk.

"What can I do for you?" She asked, clearly annoyed. No one could really blame her though. She probably had a long day, but she was in a hospital where hopeless people were crying their eyes out because their loved ones were in a critical situation. She could show some respect.

"I'm here for Killian Jones."
