"Ashley, please help me," I plead. "I have a present for everyone but Kian."

"You should've asked him what he wanted," she says.

"But I don't want him to just know what I'm getting him."

"Well what does he like to do?"

"I don't really know anymore. After he stopped making YouTube videos he really never found another hobby."

"That's it!"

"What's it?"

"Get him something that'll make him want to do videos again," she suggest.

"Well what would that be though? He has the computer, the camera, and a tripod."

"Get him a new camera lens."

"Good idea." We walk over to Best Buy I scan through the camera section. I find a lens that's really good quality. It costs about $1,000. I take one then make my way to the checkout with Ashley.

My phone starts to ring as we walk out of the store. I pull it out then answer it.

"Hello?"

"Hey," I hear Erin say.

"Hey what's up?"

"Nothing really just really bored. What are you up to?"

"Christmas shopping with Ashley," I say.

"Fun, What'd you get for Kian?"

"I got him a camera lens."

"Why? I thought he wasn't into photography."

"Well He was talking about how he missed how things used to be when we first moved to California, so I got him a new lens so he could start making YouTube videos again."

"Oh that's cool."

"Has he told Jc what he got me?" I question.

"Yes he did actually. Might I add that it is amazing and you'll absolutely love it."

"Tell me what it is."

"Nope can't do that. This has to be a surprise I'm not blowing something this big," she says.

"Woah it's big?" I question.

"The present itself isn't."

"Wait so the overall feeling of it is big, but the present itself is small?"

"Yeah."

"Is that Erin?" Ashley asks.

"Yup."

"Hold on let me say something to her," Ashley says.

I hand her the phone and listen to her talk.

"Hey it's Ashley. Do not say anything else or she'll figure it out. I can't have you blowing it. Kian told us to keep it as much as a secret as humanly possible. She has to be surprised."

"Wait you know?" I question Ashley.

She gives me an innocent look. "Maybe."

"Ashley you have to tell me."

"No not happening," she says.

"Plllleeeeeeaaaassssseeee," I plead.

"No."

"Fine." I take my phone back and continue to talk to Erin as we make our way home. I don't hang up until we get back.

I run upstairs and quickly wrap Kian's present before he gets home then hide it in the closet.

"You'll really like it," Ashley says.

"Like what?"

"The present Kian's getting you," she says with a smile.

"Will you please just tell me," I beg.

"No I can't. I want to so bad, but I can't."

"Please. I'll act surprised I promise."

"No. I want you to be genuinely surprised when he does it."

"Woah. What did you just say?" I press.

She thinks back to what she said then covers her mouth when she realized what she had said.

"When he does what Ashley?" I press.

"Uh nothing."

"Ashley," I say slyly. "Come on just say it."

"How have you not already figured it out?" She questions.

"I don't know, I'm not very good at figuring things out."
