The house is quiet as Erin and I sit in the living room waiting for Kian to return with Jc and Copeland.

I look across the room at Erin. She seems to be lost in thought, probably thinking about Jc. The closing of a car door shakes her from it though. Our heads turn to the door as we wait for it to open.

Seconds later it does revealing Kian carrying in one of Jc's bags. Then walks in Jc. He looks different. He isn't the happy person I remember him as. Bags line the bottom of his eyes and his skin looks almost sickly discolored.

I look back at Erin. She stays in her seat just staring at him. Pain fills her eyes. He must not have looked like that last time she saw him. I turn back to Jc. He looks as though he could just fall on the floor and die right then and there, but he doesn't. He fights to keep his eyes open and look back at Erin.

"You can take the guest room," Kian says to Jc.

"Ok, thanks for letting me stay here," he says as his eyes snap away from Erin.

"No problem," Kian says. I stand and walk over to Kian and Jc, leaving Erin in the living room.

"I'll take Copeland," I offer.

"Thanks." He shifts the sleeping little girl from his side to my arms. She doesn't seem to notice since she doesn't move.

Erin comes up next to me and looks at Jc. "Hey," she says a little unsure of herself.

Jc looks over her. "H-hi." The word almost come out like he has trouble saying it. "Well I better go put my things upstairs," Jc says.

Kian and I move out of the way of the steps as Jc grabs his bags and goes up to the guest room.

"I'll take her," Erin says next to me.

I pick Copeland up off my shoulder and hand her to Erin. She takes her in her arms and kisses her on the forehead.

"It's late we should all get to bed," Kian suggests.

"Good idea," Erin agrees.

I help Erin get the extra play pen out of the closet that Jc and Erin had always left here for when we babysat Copeland, then we set it up in her room. She lays Copeland down in it as I slip out of her room then down the hall to mine and Kian's.

Kian's already asleep by the time I crawl into bed. I cuddle up to is warm strong body and close my eyes. All the thoughts of the day that were swirling my mind cease as I fall asleep.

I wake up around 2:00. I try to close my eyes and fall back to sleep but I can't. I lay in bed awake as the moonlight from outside pools on the floor. I decide to step outside hoping the fresh air will help me sleep. I quietly open the door to mine and Kian's room and step into the hallway. I make my way to the balcony door and quietly open it then close it after I'm outside.

The stars flicker in the deep blue black sky.

"It's beautiful out here tonight, isn't it?" A voice says in the dark scaring me.

"Never do that again Jc," I say as I hold my chest as my heart races.

He lets out a little laugh. "Sorry, thought you saw me out here."

"No, not really," I laugh. I take a seat in one of the wicker chairs.

"How come you're awake?" He asks.

"Just couldn't sleep. Like usual. What about you?" I ask.

"Just been thinking, so I couldn't sleep either."

"Ah I see."

A silence fills the night air.

"So how do you feel about all of this?" He asks.

"What do you mean?"

"How do you feel about this whole situation with me and Erin?"

"I don't know. Confused I guess."

"Confused?" He questions.

"None of this makes since. I mean Erin loves you and I know you love her, it's just you two have changed."

"How have we changed?"

"You just used to be this sweet guy that always put everyone first, but from the way it sounds it's like you're a totally different person now."

"Oh. I know I did take it a bit far," he admits.

"Yeah just a bit," I laugh.

"You've changed too though," he says.

"I know, we all have," I agree.

"No not like that." I give him a confused look. "You haven't changed like everyone else has."

"What do you mean like everyone else?" I ask. He stands and sits back down next to me.

"Everyone else is growing up and getting boring. You though. You're getting more interesting," he says with a smile.

"How am I getting more interesting?"

"When you and Erin came to California she was this spontaneous fun person, you on the other hand were a shy little thing."

"Yeah what about it?" I ask confused as to what his point is.

"What I'm saying is that I'm tired if these people. They're boring. You and me though are fun." He grabs my hand. I quickly pull it away and stand up.

"Come on, ditch Kian. Forget about me and Erin. Me and you can run off like we were never even here," he suggests as he stands up.

"Are you kidding me?" I slowly start to back away from him hoping he doesn't notice but he does.

"I wanted you from the start anyways. Connor got to you before I could though, then Kian swooped in."

"You are completely out if your mind to think that I'd break up with Kian to be with a psychopath like you."

"I'm not a psychopath. I've been planning this ever since I got to Texas."

"So you only came to LA for me?"

"Ding ding. We have a winner," he says with a laugh.

"How could you do this to Erin? How could you do this to Copeland?" I question bitterly.

"Who cares about them? Erin hurt me. So I'm going to do the same and the only way to do that is to get you."

"Well that's not happening," I say sternly.

"Oh really?" Jc asks almost wickedly.

He takes his foot and slams it down on my toes. I let out a scream from the pain surging through my foot. The hallway light flashes on, but before I can do anything Jc's lips slam against mine. I try to pull away but I can't he has me corned and he's to strong. He pulls away and turns to the door.

It sits open with a shocked Kian and Erin staring back at us.
