I check the time, 7:00. I stand from my chair and go back inside. I get in the shower and wash my hair. I put on the same shorts that I wore today and match it with a aqua blue shirt with gold tribal print designs on it.

I blow my hair dry and straighten it. I carefully apply my makeup then check myself in the mirror. I slip my gold sandals on then check the clock. 8:30. I shove some extra money in my bra then head out the door.

The music is so loud that when the elevator door opens I can here it from down the hall. I knock on the door and a petite girl with blonde hair opens the door.

"Come on in!" She yells over the music.

I walk in and the music grows louder. The lights are off but there's random strobe lights flashing to the music. There's people everywhere. Everyone's hot bodies are touching and dancing on each other.

"Annie!" I hear someone shout not to far away. I squint my eyes and look around for whoever called me. Before I can find them though someone grabs my arm and pulls my away from the crowd of bodies. "Hey there," Brian says with a smile when we get away from the crowd.

"Nice party you have here," I say.

"Yeah I try," he laughs.

His laugh sounds oddly like Kian's. I shake the thought away. Come on let's dance. He grabs my hand and guides me through the crowd. As we dance the lights play across his face and body. No matter how hard I try to dismiss it he still makes me think of Kian.

"You want something to drink?" He asks.

"Sure!" I yell over the music.

I take his hand as he leads me to the drinks. The way he grips my hand even makes me think of Kian. How he holds it tightly but not to tightly to where it hurts me. Guilt surges through me. I shouldn't be here.

We make it to the Kitchen where the drinks are.

"What would you like?" He asks.

"Actually I should go," I admit.

"But you just got here," he says, disappointment in his face.

Guilt takes over both of my decisions. If I stay here then I'm betraying Kian, but if I leave I'll be hurting Brian. God why do I always have to do this to people.

"Fine I'll stay."

"Good. What do you want?" He asks as he flashes me a smile. His face reminds me of Kian again.

"Give me the strongest alcohol you have. I'm going to need a lot of it," I say.

He pours a shot of tequila.

"Here take this." I just look at it. I've never actually tried tequila before but I heard it burns. "What's wrong?" He asks.

"I'm not really a big drinker."

"Just take it back really fast, it'll only burn for a few seconds."

I look at his face. The more I look at it the more I think of Kian. I take the shot and quickly down it. My throat burns as it goes down and I cough.

He laughs a little. "You alright?"

"Yeah give me another," I say handing him the shot glass. He fills it to the brim and hands it back to me. I stare at it considering if I should really drink it. I look up at his face and still see Kian. I quickly down it and let it burn. I look at Brian's face again to see if he makes me think of Kian still. He does.

"One more!" I shout over the music.

"Alright." I hand him the glass and he fills it up one more time. I quickly down it. This time I don't feel the burn though and my toes tingle a little. I look up at Brian and smile. He smiles back at me. "You good?" He asks.

"Yeah!" I yell over the music. "Come on let's dance!" I grab his hand and pull him through the crowd. After that everything seems to be a blur.
